Rock: I was lucky in my life because I had a lot of positive gay influences, and my mentor for many, many, many years is a strong, proud, steadfast, truthful gay man, who by the way I've literally seen kick a lot of people's asses. And I say that not that he was a violent man, but he was a former professional wrestler.

 

Q. Who is he?

 

Rock: His name is Pat Patterson.

It is well known in wrestling circles that Pat Patterson is gay.

 

You will often hear 'hidden' references to it on Raw and there are references to it Foley's books and Austins book i think.

The match was awful but Patterson camping it up in the dressing room before hand was comedy gold!

firstly simon = bigot and secondly what jokes because i didn't know this i guess it went over my head with out me noticing it

what can i say i don't really think about things like who's gay or not so i don't pay much attention to it

Russ confirmed it for me earlier, I had always heard jokes about Sylvian Grenier being pushed only cause he was banging Patterson, but never took them seriously.

 

Apparently he sucked Pattersons wiener to get a job. So I'm told. By Russ though, so take that for what its worth :P

 

And as to the fact that I didn't know, 1) Patterson isn't exactly a raving camp homosexual and it wasn't exactly easy to know, 2) Nobody ever takes me aside and says "this wrestler is gay you know". And John Cena isn't before anybody starts!
