In a Match that has already happened a few times in the WWF who would you like to see come out on top and why in Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan, a Legend vs Legend Match.

If you have been one of the lucky people to actually witness Hulk Hogan vs Ric Flair give your oppinions on the historic match.

Also why would your chosen choice deserve to win? Have they contributed to the company enough or just plainly because they should win

This match has happened in the WWE and in WCW many many times over. And Hogan has dominated the feud between them in both federations.

If I had my pick on a legend vs. legend match between the two I would have it done the right way:

2 out of 3 falls:No DQ, no count out, each fall with a 45 minute time limit attached. And the event would take place in Madision Square Garden.

And out of that I would like to see Ric Flair get the win. Yes Hulk Hogan has indeed given alot to pro wrestling. But no one brought more honor and prestige to the World heavyweight title over the years more than the"Nature Boy." :worship

maybe Hogan v Flair one last time,i do like the idea of a now and again legends match as they did not too long ago with Flair v Lawler as long as they treat it respectfully not Patterson v Briscoe comedy matches

Flair is twice the worker of Hogan, but Hogan is twice the draw of Flair. I'd like to see Flair win though

How is Flair the only choice? He is YOU'RE choice, but certainly not mine, so to say he is the only choice is a falousy. Also, you say it would suck because of Hogans condition? What about Ric Flair, who hasnt had a good outing in YEARS, apart from his match with HHH when HHH carried him.

Believe me, Hogan vs Flair right now would indeed suck, but to put all the blame for that on Hogan when Ric Flair certainly is no better, is unfair and wrong.

As for the question at hand: Hogan should go over. He has done wayyyyy more for wrestling, he is the bigger draw (hell, WWE are promoting Backlash all around him cos they know HHH vs Batista isnt going to pull in money) he is the biggest star, bigger name value and recognition and its not believable for Flair to beat him, IMO.

Whats he going to do, make Hogan tap to his crappy figure four? (Which, by the way, only jobbers ever actually tapped out to). The ONLY way Flair would go over would be using a foreign object or something rubbish like that, he wouldnt go over clean as Hogan wouldnt allow it nor is it believable.

Hogan should go over because he means more to wrestling than anybody...EVER!

This si so biased it makes me f'n sick Bub.........One: how is the figure four crappy? It is a legit, painful hold. I would rather have a Legdrop legit from Hogan than be put in a legit figure four by Flair (which Jericho has tapped out to in WWE)......Two: Yes the match would suck......but Flair at least can have his usual sucky match with the crowd popping for all the usual Flair spots (flop, turnbuckle launch, strut, chops etc).......you love Hogan and that's ok, but don't take it personally or feel you have to go against everything that someone says when Hogan is the target.......if this match took place Hogan (as the bigger draw) would have to take the most blame as he cannot, in his present condition, deliver what would be asked (big boot + legdrop).......Three: He means more to your wrestling than anyone ever.....a lot of people have no concept or care about Hogan's legacy as they have been brought up in a different time.

yesterday we agreed that it was time people stopped comparing everything to the attitude era.......maybe you should stop living in the past with Hogan and accept what he has become.......just a thought.

In all fairness, Hogan cannot even move around the ring and Flair is just an embarrassment to watch these days. Trust me you do not want to see this. Patterson vs Briscoe is a 5 star match compared to what this would be.

Please, he wasnt sticking up for you, cant you do that for yourself?[/quote']I respect your (notice your, not you're *which means you are* :P) opinion on things....but you need to realise that it's not 1988 (or even 2002 when he was getting good pops) anymore....and at least respecting other people's opinions on Hogan/Flair/whatever.

It is admirable that you love/respect Hogan so much....but you do let it cloud your judgement sometimes. Yes you do badmouth certain aspects of Hogan's career....but every single person on these boards (maybe even off them as well) who offers their own opinions that may not show Hogan as the beginning, middle and end of pro-wrestling is either wrong, too young to know better or hasn't seen enough to warrant their opinion counting.

If you just took of those rose-tinted specs...you would see what the rest of us can.....that Hogan had his strengths, but most of them are gone.....whereby Flair (parody of his former self or not) still has his.

I know what you meant but everyone was going on as if it was gonna happen in the future so thats what I was replying to.

Vince should have done this match at Wrestlemania 8, maybe Belty will tell us why it never happened. Something tells me that a big yellow booted man didn't want to do the job...

I would personally not want to see this match as both of them are shall we say, beyond their prime. This match would be absolutley terrible. Neither of them can wrestle anymore. You'd get nostalgia pops and thats about it. Neither one could carry the other. It would be like watching a car wreck, and not a fender bender either, I'm talking a 70 mph head on.

Flair because in my mind Hogan was 50% media creation like was said by WWE about him in the 90's during Jim Cornets interviews and Flair never gets the credit he deserves and not many people remember he like HBK came back from a broken back, did Hogan no, what injuries has Hogan sustained oh his knee how sad Flair is twice as tough and was not created by media like the Hulkster was

This si so biased it makes me f'n sick Bub.........

I'm glad I can stir such emotions within you, DC! :lol Although, of course, its not bias, let me explain:

One: how is the figure four crappy? It is a legit' date=' painful hold.[/quote']

Yes, its a painful hold IN REALITY, but in wrestling, NOBODY taps out to it and seeing as we are talking wrestling terms here, do you REALLY think Hulk Hogan would tap out to Ric Flairs figure four leglock when other wrestlers who are beneath Hogans standing, guys like Whindam, Garvin, Sting, Bret and pretty much every other high profile guy Flair has ever faced, has 'powered out' of it? Think again!

I would rather have a Legdrop legit from Hogan than be put in a legit figure four by Flair (which Jericho has tapped out to in WWE)......

If Hogan dropped 20+ stone legit across you're throat, there is a real possibility you would freakin die, if Flair clamped on a figure four legit, you would have a broken shin...I'd prefer to have a broken shin.

Two: Yes the match would suck......but Flair at least can have his usual sucky match with the crowd popping for all the usual Flair spots (flop' date=' turnbuckle launch, strut, chops etc).......[/quote']

And Hogan could have his usual Hulk Up routine with crowd popping and his usually clotheslines, slams and all that crap. Still wouldnt make it match of the year, it would suck ass.

you love Hogan and that's ok' date=' but don't take it personally or feel you have to go against everything that someone says when Hogan is the target[/quote']

I'm not going against anything, I thought this thread was a "Who do you think should go over?" thread, I didnt realise it was a "Flair should go over and anybody who disagrees is against the rest of us" thread. I chose Hogan to go over just as others have chosen Flair, I also gave my reasons why, I dont see a problem.

if this match took place Hogan (as the bigger draw) would have to take the most blame as he cannot' date=' in his present condition, deliver what would be asked (big boot + legdrop)[/quote']

Hogan won his 4th WWF title from the Undertaker without the boot and legdrop, he won with a rollup and nobody complained. The fact is, Hogan and Flair would share equal blame for the crap factor of the match if it were to happen now, because BOTH of them cannot go in the ring anymore. To put even 51% of the blame on Hogan if the match sucked isnt fair, because they are both equally as past it as the other.

He means more to your wrestling than anyone ever.....a lot of people have no concept or care about Hogan's legacy as they have been brought up in a different time.

Thats a fair comment and true, but this thread is about personal opinion, and my personal opinion is that Hulk should go over in a match with Flair if it happened today.

yesterday we agreed that it was time people stopped comparing everything to the attitude era.......maybe you should stop living in the past with Hogan and accept what he has become.......just a thought.

That makes zero sense, zero sense at all. Going by this logic, then everybody who chooses Flair needs to stop living in the past and accept what Flair has become too, right? They are BOTH oldschool guys from the same era, and we have been asked to give out opinions and views on who should go over and why. I'm not comparing Hogan to, say, John Cena and saying he should go over Cena (although of course, he should :devil ) so you cant be living in the past in this thread as its all about the past no matter who you choose!

No, it has nothing to do with Hulk not wanting to job, because it was already agreed Hogan was going to go over and take the WWF title back from Flair. It didnt happen because the steroid scandal was starting to rear its ugly head and Hogan took a year off until WMIX. That and the fact Hogan wasnt to concentrate on acting (oh dear) as he thought he future was in Hollywood (Ohhhhh dear).

If it wasnt for that "media creation" pal, you wouldnt be having WWE RAW, SD!, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, PPV's, international tours, merchandising etc. So, a little more respect wouldnt go amiss.
