Ok here's the deal. My dreamcast has been lying around for a while now, and I heard about these so-called great wrestling games available, noteably giant Gram 2000 and Toukon Retsuden 4. So i just boughtt both of these, along with a DC-X disk to allow import play.

Now my question is does anybody here own these games, or know anything about them. Pros and Cons would be cool, cheers, want to know what I'm letting myself in for with these. :roll

Can't find it! :evil

The only Dreamcast Wrestling game I remember was Royal Rumble, and it sucked terribly.
Fire Pro is AWESOME dude, now go online and translate the moves list.....there quite a few!!!!! Oh, and the create a wrestler feature is absolutely phenomenal, you can make literally anybody. Again, you'll need a translation though....

Well this morning the postie came a knockin'. Giant Gram 2k and Fire Pro D had arrived. I've spent almost all day fiddling with Fire Pro and it's absolutely fantastic (even though I own both the GBA versions, this game is the sh*t!) Done all manner of matches, my favourite being the Lighttube / Barbwire Board deathmatches. :worship

As for Giant Gram, it's a'ight, moves are a little tricky to pull off and menus are tough to navigate (Fire Pro's are easier for some reason). I'm not so much into that as I am Fire Pro. Having said that,Toukon Retsuden is on it's way, and being an avid SmackDown! fan, it should appeal to my tastes :P

My only gripe is I wasted myself 14 quid on a DC-X disk to play them. Little did I know that the guy I bought Fire Pro off, actually slipped me a copy of the codebreaker disk in with the package, so now I'll have 2 differen't disks, one of which I obviously don't need, although the codebreaker should come in reeeall handy for cheats :lol

All in all I'm chuffed with that little bundle, Cheers again 'Filly for finding me that link. :xyx

Oh yeah... GO buy those games, Now!

Giant gram takes ages to get properly into, its like the Street Fighter of wrestling games....
Is it Jarrett thats in Giant Gram? I do love the Gram though. Did anybody ever get to make an English hack of Fire Pro D? It's great, but a huge pain in the ass when you can't read Japanese or be bothered with the translations.

Nope. At least i could never find one. Wolf and Jeffry from virtua fighter are in Giant Gram as well bizarrely enough.....

I'm thinking of Giant Gram 2000 or 2 or whatever it is. It's gotta be Jarrett, the Virtua fighter boys regularly get their asses handed to them by Misawa and Kawada.
I've only played GG2K a couple of times and I haven't spotted him, but I'm really not to keen on the gameplay, the button combinations get to me! I prefer the Straight up wrestling engine like Fire Pro, or Toukon Retsuden (Smackdown Style). Although TR4 is slighty advanced compared to the early Smackdowns, it has an extra button used especially for submissions. Hopefully it'll arrive tomorrow!

I like the way the use of weapons in Fire Pro not only feels good, it CAN actually turn a match. Unlike Smackdown.

The only gripe I have with that, is it's hard to sometimes line the weapon shot up with the opponents. You need to be a certain distance and in a certain position from your opponent to connect. What I like though is that if the guy is huge i.e Big Show or Sid, one shot might not knock him down, it might take 2 or 3 to wipe him out. This adds a Lot of realism to the game and makes it a lot of fun. Speaking of a lot of fun, I just got done with an 8-Man tag team match. It was Austin, Triple H, Kane and Undertaker Vs Goldberg, Bret Hart, Sid and Scott Steiner. Hardcore brawlfest at it's best. Ended when I criticalled Sid with a Last Ride Powerbomb. Seriously this game is awesome I cannot protest this enough!

Another note, I'm back on Giant Gram! I'm getting into it a bit more now. The one thing royally PO'ing me is that darn Great Matches section. I'll never unlock Hayabusa or Muta if I can't even get 80% on the first match, it's solid! :evil

Seriously. That game is HARDCORE! It really does sort the men from the boys. If you do bust it though, you will NOT be disappointed.....

Whutcha callin me ehhh! :P

Yeah but cmon, I even tried it set to easy, and it's just as badass. They don't give you a big enough timespan to complete each move. That is once I've worked out what the move actually is, using a translation FAQ

The game might be Hardcore, but there's not a single chairshot in sight! :D

Yep. None of that "garbage" wrestling nonsense here! back to the spirit of the sport! I can understand people losing the rag with it though, it really is not a game for beginners, or casual gamers.:help

Well I'm sure not a casual gamer, I play wrestling games every day of the year. Infact I play video games every day of the year full stop. :P

I did manage (somehow) to compete the first match of the great match mode. Giant Baba vs Stan Hansen. How, I have no idea, took flip knows how many goes at it. Now it's giving me hell in a tag match in that mode! :eek Still, great game.

Darn, Toukon Retsuden came today but I haven't yet been able to properly play. Does anyone have this that can tell me what settings or disk they use to make it work. I tried it on both the Codebreaker and DC-X but it only works for one setting on the DC-X and it flickers on the screen so I can't see it properly. Help, ppl. :(
Ohh man I worked it out, It's because I was using a SCART cable. SO does that mean I have to use the crumby ariel cable if I wanna play?
