Posted April 4, 200618 yr Landsberg asked what Bret's legacy would be. Bret called himself an artist. Michaels may have worked a little harder, Hogan may have drawn bigger crowds, and maybe Flair lasted longer than he did, but Hart was better than all of them. He said it wasn't a night off working with Flair or Michaels, but it was a night off when people fought Bret. Steve Austin even told him that a few days ago. When Austin saw Bret's name next to his, he knew it was a night off. Bret called himself the perfect guy to work with and wishes he could've wrestled himself. Full interview transcript here: http://www.wrestlingobserver.com/wo/news/headlines/default.asp?aID=15926 Wow, isnt Bret humble! "I was better than all of them and I wish I could have wrestled myself!" :lol What a dick.
April 4, 200618 yr There's nothing Humble about Bret and we all know that by now. He is very arrogant about his own ability and whilst I don’t mind for one minute wrestlers admitting that they are good or even great, you can go too far and if that is true Bret has done so.
April 4, 200618 yr Bret Hart loves himself, thats what i like about him, he said he could have a good match with anyone, and he wasnt lying.
April 4, 200618 yr Bret hart is jealous because shawn can still go thats all. He wants so much for the fans to backlash at shawn but they never will because unlike him we have all let it go EDIT: No txt spk please. Edited April 4, 200618 yr by MrFill
April 4, 200618 yr Bret hart is jealous cos shawn can still go thats all. He wants so much for the fans to backlash at shawn but they never will cos unlike him we have all let it go I wouldn't say jealous, I would think that Bret could still go if he didn't get the strokes and the major concussion. Overall, yeah Bret does love himself, and he is very arrogant, but he has reason to be, he is one of the best ever in the world and could have a good match against anyone, If he was still in WWE like Shawn, it would be pretty hard to compare them still and they would both be stealing the shows.
April 4, 200618 yr What a dick. :lol Nice to see you have no hard feelings about Bret easily outpopping Hogan at the Hall of Fame Ceremony.
April 4, 200618 yr Bret DOES have an ego, but rightly so. Sure he hasn't sold the most merchandise, or filled as many seats, but he is one of the all-time greats in the ring. No matter who he was with, he could make them look good, and that's the sign of a great worker.

No matter who he was with, he could make them look good, and that's the sign of a great worker. Agreed. :xyx And let's be honest, how many wrestlers deep down, don't have a massive ego? The only ones that are mentioned having one are those that are comfortable flaunting it.
April 4, 200618 yr Bret has earnt the right to consider himself one of the best in the business full stop. And i personally don't mind reading/hearing him say it.
April 4, 200618 yr Excellence of Execution. Better than Hogan anyday. Bret is just honest, he's not a show off, he doesn't pretend to not say that he's good. The fact is, he was good, one of the best, and he's only stating the truth. Calling him a 'dick' is pretty out of line. He was screwed by the boss of the company he worked in and then the guy's career was cut short due to a misfortune. There's nothing wrong with Bret saying he was one of the best, because in the ring, he was one of the best. Edited April 4, 200618 yr by Smacketh Down
April 4, 200618 yr That didn't quote Bret as saying he thought he was a better wrestler than all of them. They just listed 3 wrestlers, listed something that they did better than Bret and then stated that overall Bret was better than those 3 wrestlers listed; which is true. Of course that is only in my opinion and the shared opinion of whoever did that transcript or maybe even Landsberg but from that alone you can't be certain it was Bret that even said that. But even if he did say it I see nothing wrong in that. I'm sure Hogan, Flair and even HBK must feel that they are better than each other as they have strengths and weaknesses in different areas and it is debatable and all of them have massive egos. And I see nothing wrong either in seeing him say that he wish he could have wrestled himself, a lot wrestlers wish they could have wrestled Bret Hart that never got the chance too; so why not Bret himself? If I seen an interview from any of the other 3 guys saying the same things about themselves I wouldn't have a problem with it... Edited April 4, 200618 yr by SHEF
April 4, 200618 yr Yeah can't imagine Flair, Hogan, or HBK, NOT saying they are better than the others. Its an ego driven business. As a Chris Benoit shows, being humble and grateful don't get you that far. If you want to be the best it seems, believe you are.
April 4, 200618 yr I don't see the problem, he was clearly the best of all time. Calling him a dick is out of line, at least he didn't pretend he was going to be on Raw last night among various other 1,000,000 lies over the years :)
April 4, 200618 yr I think what Bret has over someone like Hogan is that it's rare that he presents outright lies as facts. Hart might love his opinions and matyrdom and belabour them far more than is stricty necessary but he's not a big orange liar.
April 4, 200618 yr Hart might love his opinions and matyrdom and belabour them far more than is stricty necessary but he's not a big orange liar. Big orange liar, thats the funniest thing ive heard all day. :thumbsup
April 4, 200618 yr To be honest I dont think Bret is all that great I can see the appeal but to me he is kind of bland and the DVD sucked ass.
April 4, 200618 yr Of course that quote also only shows part of the story and not the complete or summarised interview. Bret said other things but I guess we only quote what works for us huh Belty?
April 4, 200618 yr Bret is an arroagant self loving egomaniac, but in fairness so are most wrestlers but bret takes the cake,in his dvd you'd have to use the LYNX clicker to count how many times he says he's great and the best technical guy,he always puts himself over as the best and that annoys me a lot. Gotta say though what he did to Hogan was absolutely brilliant, hogan deserved it
April 4, 200618 yr I dont agree with what he did to Hogan. Even though Hogan did that to him in the past, he still had no right to do it. Hogan set the stage for Bret.
April 4, 200618 yr Why does he have no right? All Hogan was interested in was a piece of the limelight at the HoF ceremony, Hart rightly denied him of this.
April 4, 200618 yr Because Bret is unforgiving and vengeful. He should still have respected Hogan and given him a little of his time. Like I said, without Hogan, there might not have been a Bret Hart or WWE for that matter.
