Randy Orton’s suspension was not merely issued as a punishment—WWE expects Orton to mature during his time off so that his attitude, upon rejoining the team, will have greatly improved.

 

Thus, the sixty day timeframe is merely a minimum for the suspension. WWE only plans to bring Orton back when it is sure that he has put his issues behind him.

 

The right decision?

Virtually everyone within WWE—even those known as Orton sympathizers—supports the company’s decision to remove the wrestler from the road.

 

“He needs therapy, that’s my opinion,” said a WWE source. Past disciplinary actions have not curbed Orton’s behavioral issues, to the point where many feel that, absent a major intervention, there is no way the wrestler will truly change his attitude.

Serving as Orton’s saving grace is the fact that he does have significant name value in the wrestling industry. The feeling is that by releasing him, WWE would be essentially handing TNA a weapon to use in the war.

 

Maven and Mark Jindrak, according to some, were not as lucky. There actually is a belief that WWE released the two as a way to separate Orton from his “party buddies.” If that was WWE’s intention, it failed. Even without his two friends, Orton’s party-hungry antics did not disappear.

If it's producing bad publicity for the company, then I could see them do it - like if they're regularly out, VERY drunk and making a scene, then how good would that look on the WWE?

 

The wrestlers are meant to be "ambassadors" for the company, so they can't go around acting like comeplete asses.

If the WWE want it's employees to respect their code of conduct, examples must be made, you can't have anyone thinking they are above the rules, it sets a bad example to up & comers.

I think the best thing for it is to give him councelling for his 60 days, evaluate him at the end, if he need more give him anotehr 60 days, then actually TELL him and hammer it home he's on his last chance

Seriously, I thought Maven was turning into a very good wrestler and I enjoyed watching him. Mark Jindrak was okay, but he really never impressed me all that much except for his awesome dropkick.

christian going over was huge for TNA but as a big christian fan that i am, orton going over would be a lot bigger.

wwe will bring orton back, maybe not after two months are up but they won't fire him. he's too big a star! they will miss him, god, "the (great!!!!) khali has come in as the new heel"
