So this week is E3, the biggest week in the gaming year and I think this year is going to be a great one for big announcements. I expect Sony and Nintendo to steal the show with announcements for Playstation 3 and the Wii, I'm very interested at the pricing structure for PS3, I have a feeling it's not going to be cheap at all. I wonder if they've redesigned the thing as well as the joypads since neither were warmly received when they showed them off last year as well.

XBOX wise, I'm hoping we get to see a look at Halo 3 you just know it's going to be huge.

So what's everyone else looking foward to this year from the show?

Im gonna be getting the 60gb version for sure. Was gonna anyway, but its confirmed it for me
Sony are going to be charging more for a PS2.5 than a Premium 360 :eek

Probably because of the BluRay drive - it's going to effectively be a PS2 that plays BruRay movies.

Any info on the backwards compatibility of the PS3? Thats one of the things that appeals to me about the Wii is that you can play old Nintendo games on it, Ive not read up on how that works or anything so I cant comment really about it much, but it'd be a great saver if you could play your old PS2 and PS1 games on PS3, although due to this new Blu-Ray technology Im not entirely sure if its a possibility or not

I swear i read a statment saying you can play both PS2 and PSone games on the PS3.

I may be a big Sony fan, but they've really turned me off this PS3. I was thinking about getting hte 20g version, but it seems absolutely pointless now. The Wii is looking more and more appealing, though im still not sure about the controls. When they have a more full list of games too ill be more interested.

I'm thinking that getting an Xbox 360 and a Wii is looking like the best bet, after all the Only big exclusve game I'd be missing out on off the top of my head is Tekken.

I'm loving Microsoft's quote at E3:

http://uk.revolution.ign.com/articles/707/707831p1.html

Peter Moore, a vice president for Microsoft, asked in a recent interview, "Tell me why you would buy a $600 PS3?" He went on to explain, "People are going to buy two [machines]. They're going to buy an Xbox and they're going to buy a Wii ... for the price of one PS3."

Microsoft seems to have decided to side with Nintendo in order to overthrow Sony's current lead in the videogame market. Whether the strategy will work or not remains to be seen. Though no official announcement has been made regarding the price of Wii at launch, it is expected to release for a significantly cheaper price than either the 360 or Playstation 3 consoles.

Nintendo has stated many times that it does not wish to compete directly with Sony and Microsoft in the next generation war, opting to move into a new direction with Wii that will complement the other systems.

Paraphrasing: Sony, you suck, love Microsoft and Nintendo. :lol

"Ha Ha, McMahon!"

I get annoyed with fanboys as it is with their "my console is better than yours" pish, but when its the CEOs of two major organisations doing it......well......its just about time to lay the smack down to be honest......
Ive just seen Starfox DS, reminds me of the good old LylatWars. May go buy a new DS just for that, sadly I sold my DS yonks ago

Fletch, PS3 will be entire backwards compatible.

Funny thing about the 2-1 thing is that I will be doing the inverse, PS3/Wii

PS3-For my Sim Sports

Wii-for Smash Bros/Zelda

Also, no one should ever say "I'm playing my Nintendo". Now, yo have to say "I'm Wiiing"
