Guest Craig
Credit: WWE.com SmackDown Superstars Batista and Booker T got into a knockdown, drag-out fight Monday afternoon on the set of World Wrestling Entertainment’s SummerSlam commercial shoot in Encino, California. Director of WWE Television Promotions, John Gaburick, tells WWE.com the fight broke out during the filming of a scene in the commercial which will be used to promote SummerSlam later this year. “The fight lasted at least five minutes, it was a brutal, bloody, vicious affair,” says Gaburick. “It took JBL, Mark Henry, Chris Benoit, Finlay and road agent Ricky Steamboat to finally break things up.” Gaburick says, “Both men were banged up pretty good, both men were bloodied up.” After the fight, Booker T and Batista went behind closed doors to try and clear the air. Gaburick says both Booker T and Batista finished their required work on the commercial before leaving the set. When asked what the fight was about, Gaburick would only say “it’s a personal issue between two men.” The SummerSlam commercial was filmed Sunday using RAW Superstars and Monday using SmackDown competitors. I think it's about who looks better in a suit.
Guest Dave7g
No doubt it's some kind of work... Is Booker T a heel? Was the entire fight caught on film? Does Dave need a fued for his return? Yup...

Are they actually wearing the SAME suit?? Maybe that's why they argued-Booker stole Batistas suit... And in no way looked as good in it... And surely we'll see on friday how viscious the fight was... If Booker doesnt have a scratch on him, well...

Naitch
Awesome. I remember writing a number of weeks ago that they should rehash the 'Best Dressed Man in Mid South' angle, with Booker T in DiBiase's role and Batista as a much purtier, buffer, more metrosexual Jim Duggan. If this leads to a 'Tuxedo Street Fight Coal Miner's Glove Steel Cage' match then I'll be very happy indeed. I've just realised that was my first post since 20th April. What a comeback it was too.... Guest The Great Ahmar
I think it could be for Batista to have feud when he returns.
Guest Bluestiger99
THere's no way thats not a work. If the words, knock down, drag out, don't tip you off, then the fact it supposedly went for 5 minutes should have. WWE fails, category, producing a decent story. Guest Sav
Hilarious, if they actually thought anyone would believe this was anything but a work, then damn they're stupid. A Batista vs Booker feud will be very nice to see once Dave gets back, hopefully King Booker will be our World Champion by then.
Guest the HiTman
It annoys me so much that so many of you are saying "the WWE are silly if they think they can fool us"....well I gotta say guys; it IS silly that you even think the WWE are trying to fool you. Its a work, the WWE know it is, the WWE knew you would be all like "OMG they can't fool us tinterweb smarks". And even if you reacted the proper way by simply saying "nice work" and left it at that, the WWE will still be happy. And thats why they publish these reports. If it leads into a decent feud then it has done its job. If it doesn't...then I'm sure the forum will still be open to discuss how bad the writers are :)

Guest Breakdown
According to PWTorch, the fight was legit. - First reported through its mobile service Monday night, WWE.com reports that Booker T and Batista were involved in a fight at the Summerslam commercial shoot in California on Monday afternoon. They were on the set filming various shoots for the traditional "Summerslam-themed" video packages that will air in the weeks leading to the PPV on August 20. The fight included blood and both men showed swelling later in the evening. Booker T's wife, Sharmell, became involved near the end of the fight, but not physically. Batista, who has not been traveling with the Smackdown roster while recovering from arm surgery, is expected to be back on TV by the Great American Bash in July. More details on what led to the fight will be included in this week's Torch Newsletter.

Guest Scotty2Hotty
Booker T sets the record straight May 9, 2006 “It was simply about respect, that’s all.” Booker T, sporting a swollen left eye, commenting exclusively to WWE.com about the bloody and brutal fight he had with former World Heavyweight Champion Batista on the set of the SummerSlam commercial Monday in Encino, Calif. It took a number of SmackDown Superstars to pull Batista and Booker T off one another in a fight that lasted at least five minutes. “I’m not going to say anything else about it. The fight had to do with respect,” says Booker. “I have no ill will toward Dave, but I feel like he doesn’t know the history of the business that’s all. Maybe he should study the history. There’s a lot of us who paved the way in this business for men like Batista,” says Booker. “When I started, guys like Greg Gagne, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and countless others were in WCW. I walked in the locker room and had to earn their respect. It took me 16 long years, but I earned it. Respect isn’t a right, it’s a privilege.” When asked if the two men have buried the hatchet, Booker T pointedly says, “We’ll never be friends. We’ll never exchange Christmas cards. But I will work with Dave in the ring like nothing ever happened. It’s not about us, it’s about the company and more importantly it’s about entertaining the fans. I’ll never do anything to hurt our product.” WWE.com is attempting to reach Batista for more on this situation. Guest DOB
From wwe.com The following are Batista's comments to WWE.com regarding the real-life fight between him and Booker T this past Monday at the Summerslam commercial shoot: “We had to get past this. It had been brewing for a long time,” says former World Heavyweight Champion Dave Batista in an exclusive interview with WWE.com about the brutal fight he had with Booker T Monday on the set of the WWE SummerSlam commercial shoot in Encino, Calif. The fight was so intense both men were left swollen and bloodied and it took nearly a half dozen Superstars to separate them. “It’s over,” says Batista. “We will agree to disagree. We won’t be friends, but we will work together. I can promise you we won’t cause problems.” But Batista does have an issue with the way he’s been portrayed in the locker room. “Some guys say I’ve been running around claiming to be the top-money draw in the company, that I’m carrying the WWE on my back. I never said anything like this, the rumors break my heart. I would never disrespect guys like Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H with comments like these. I am not a *****!” Batista says he hopes the issue is finally over. “I want to move on, it’s like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I can’t wait to get back to work again”.
