Now THAT would be a transitional champion! However, given Henry's recent performances at least he'd be a credible champ. Now before every smark on here jumps on me, im judging by the amount of times he's been in main events, the fact he's gone over Angle and hell, i admit, i've found some of his recent promos pretty damn good. Yes, i said it. So sue me. I admit, he might not go down in history as the greatest ever, but he's a monster, and you could set up a series of classic heel v face bouts, and have him take advantage of his strength advantage, perhaps leading up the return of Big Dave......

Does no one else find it sad though, that they feel Henry is the best option they have for Champion on SD?

The thing is Henry has a good look about him, but his gimmicks hold him back. Just like JBL before him, give him a decent gimmick & that could take the focus away from his wrestling & like JBL, it could work well.

Umaga/Cena could be alright, but Umaga isnt ready for a main-event push yet.

But he might be come Summerslam ;)

Nah, he's alright in the ring, but you can see what the WWE are trying to do with him, the old heel-monster-squash-machine role. And lets not forget Cena isnt the greatest wrestler right now, neither is Umaga, sounds like a recipie for disaster if you ask me.

Jamal/Umaga is a very underrated worker and good luck to him with his push if it happens, but Cena vs Umaga is NOT Summerslam worthy, it better not main event.

JBL moving over to Raw... Not good :/

Why? SD need to keep the bigger names, and Bradshaw is pretty much a mainstay at SmackDown and has always been associated with the brand as JBL, him going to RAW I can see not really working very well at all.

And Henry as World champ? What a joke.

I think Henry would do a damn good job as champion, but I don't believe that they plan on giving him the belt at all. You just have to take a look at my sig for the next World Heavyweight Champion, sucka.

how hideous Umaga and cena that is unreal surprised noone has slated that one yet!

Jbl to raw would be weird but acceptible in my eyes. As for henry as champ i suppose he could keep title warm for big dave

Meh, Booker has the same appeal to me as Rey being champion did, Booker, like Rey has been around for ages, jobbed to most of the roster & is staler than a year old loaf.

Admittedly Henry isnt any better, but wouldnt it be better taking a chance on a mid-carder who hasnt had much of a chance to shine?

But Henry has also jobbed like hell and been booked like crap (Prior to his late 05./06' run). He had an affair with Mae Young for christ sake, so if you're gonna take into consideration that part then Booker IMO, is still a better option than Henry.

To be fair they gave him his chance to shine by giving him his main event spot and he hasnt blew me away as of yet. I felt he was better when he had his run on Raw, he has lost his appeal if you ask me.

Umaga is a decent worker, but he is unable to carry anyone. Cena is a decent worker when allowed, but he needs carrying to make a match into a main event PPV level.......so that screws that match up maybe.

Henry is a poor in ring worker with limited charisma and crappy mic skills........no way is he worthy of the belt, I mean come on they couldnt manage to get him over in 10 years why will it work now?

I reckon Book would make a GREAT heel champion! He's been hilarious recently, is solid in the ring, and is WILLING to put people over. To me thats the making of a champ, it shouldnt stop him being one. I would be very happpy if Book gets a run myself. But not unhappy if Henry does get it.

All down to bad gimmicks though, seeing as how creative the WWE can be, they've totally missed the boat with Henry by sticking with the whole "Worlds strongest man" crap, instead of making him into a nasty, big ol' beast, who simply beats the crap out of people, they've gone back to the WSM stuff time & time again.

Booker hasnt really changed at all since he started getting over as a singles wrestler, his match quality has been varied, but is he the guy who can pull in new fans while entertaing the current? I can't see it myself.

But if someone like Booker isn't capable of carying the WHC (Which IMO he can't) then I SERIOUSLY doubt someone like Henry can. But that's just my own opinion.

As of right now I don't think Henry can either, but then again I'm sure most people would have said the same about JBL in early 2004. But he did & very well too.

The biggest difference being JBL had never been given a chance to really shine as a singles star...Mark Henry has.

Mmm, good point, but on the flip-side you could argue the point is also the case with Booker too.

Cena/Umaga is a strange choice indeed, it's not going to draw a cent. Henry as champion is just insane, would anybody look forward to his defenses? The best news from all of this is that JBL is retiring! Sweet!
