Red05
I bought Pro evoloution Soccer 5 about a week ago, and have so far been pleased with what i've played. Now a few days ago I went through the usual Edit Job, where you have to edit all the team names and stadiums etc to make them real. So I searched on the net, and was surprised to see dozens and dozens of reviews slating the game. Not by proper reviewers, but by people who have played the game and posted up a review themselves. Many slating the "slow" game and the "bad referee," and some even contemplating the horror that is MOVING BACK TO FIFA!!!! I can't believeit, things are slightly slower, and it's easier to get pulled up for pushing Drogba over, even though he dives on the game too :lol, but I think it's a good thing. You can't just run by the side of the and hold X anymore, you have to make precisly timed tackles, with gives a better sense of satisfaction when you steal the ball away from a galloping Shrek. The referee MAY be annoying at the start, but that's before you've learned not to just fly in, you actually have to make judgments, and cover space instead of just going for it. I also think it's better that it's a bit slower, it feels more real, and you can't just sprint towards goal and fire it in like you can on FIFA. Another good change is the shooting, at first you'll sky it ALL THE TIME, but when you realise only a tap is needed, it become easy. I can't believe that I read some people calling it too hard, and some too easy. If you think it's too easy, play it on 5 or 6 star you panty-waste! And if you think it's too hard, keep on trying, that's the beauty of it. It's hard to start with, but then when Beckham cracks a corner in and Owen jumps and belts it into the back of the net with his right boot you feel more satisfied. Goals are a joy to score on Pro Evo, because they're harder to come by. So if you do find it hard, keep going panty-waste!! :lol People who slate this game as being a step backwards are wrong, it has evolved once more and taken a further leap towards realism, and that's a good thing. :xyx There are only a few things wrong with it. The usual licencing moans meaning you have to spend ages changing names, and playing with unauthentic kits, and also Gerrard's hair makes him look like a posh mummies boy on the game. Apart from that I believe Pro Evoloution Soccer 5 is far better than the 4th, and I can't wait for number 6 to come out, as it will surely be another game that is far ahead of it's lowely competitor, FIFA, *spits on ground.* If you don't like PES, you're a nutter!! Because it RULES!!! :thumbsup
Guest Wolverine
Precisely. Those who complain about the game are usually those who are completely crap at it, and would much rather go back to the far easier Pro Evo 4 where they can just dribble past the whole team to score. Incidentally, I find 6* to be easier than 3*. That might just be because of my style of playing though.
Guest MojoPogo
PES 5 is a work of genius, i LIKE the fact i have to actually WORK to score, its was makes a goal worthwhile after all.

I don't understand why, but I didn't complain, I just moved up to 5*. :P
Burakiosaurus
i'm already playing Pro Evo 6 .... get with the times lads ! :D

Guest Wolverine
He means Winning Eleven 10, the Japanese version of Pro Evo. It would be more accurate to call it Pro Evo 5.5, as changes are usually made to the game before the European version is released.

Guest Hemme
Now I know this maybe unpopular, but I prefer FIFA. *Ducks* Dont get me wrong, the Pro Evo games a good, but it doesent feel as enjoyable as FIFA, FIFA has more of a "Big game" feel to it. Red05
Doesn't it feel cheap and easy to you?
Guest Hemme
Doesn't it feel cheap and easy to you? Dude, cheap & easy? Sounds like a cracking Friday night if you ask me. ;) But yeah, I see your point while FIFA isnt the most complex game, call me superficial, but just having everything correct really adds to the game in my eyes. Old Traffor & Man U actually look correct, this I like.
Red05
Yes, thatofficial feel is the one thing Pro Evo lacks. But it has EVERYTHING else, scoring a goal means something on Pro Evo. In my opinion, FIFA is just completely crap-ola.
Guest MrFill
We've had this debate before. Fifa is more accessible to the casual gamer, Pro Evo is better for the people who are willing to put time into learning how to play. Saying that, I've gone on a run from kick-off and scored within 9 seconds on Pro Evo...
Guest Wolverine
On which difficulty?
Guest MrFill
No idea, but it was against a person.
Guest Wolverine
That explains it then. There's practically no chance of anyone doing that on Pro Evo 5 against CPU opposition over 2*.
Guest big pau hoolinator
I think FIFA World Cup 2006 delivers quite a solid game engine to make it more realistic but the passing system can be a bit enfuriating. As far as Pro Evo goes i've only played 2 and 4 and 4 was quite good from my opinion I would play as Milan and score as Shevchenko or Crespo by running as kaka thalf way into the area to either the left or right, turning around and passing down to the striker who can hit home. I would of course score other goals but if I ever needed a goal this is what I'd do.
Guest Wolverine
That's another reason why I didn't like Pro Evo 4. Far too easy to score. Edited May 31, 2006 by Wolverine
Guest Sav
There's practically no chance of anyone doing that on Pro Evo 5 against CPU opposition over 2*. One time I scored in what must have been less than ten seconds as Juninho P for Lyon on 6 stars. A couple of one-twos and a fantastic long range shot from about 30 yards. Only happened once though in my hundreds of hours of playing so your point more or less stands.
Red05
It's great when you score a cracker from outside the box. "COME ON!!!!!" It's harder to do on PES5 though, so I make sure I cherish each one. Also, Owen is class on PES5.
Guest Sav
He certainly is, a bit too class if you ask me but that's just me. Burakio, or anyone else who has the latest Winning Eleven, is it true they've sped the game up considerably from the last game because if that's true, it's quite a big disappointment. Guest Wolverine
I recreated the Champions League final a few days ago playing as Arsenal against 6* Barcelona. It finished 6-6 and we lost on penalties. Ljungberg scored in injury-time to put Arsenal 5-4 up and I thought the match was won. Of course, Ronaldinho gets the ball straight from the kick-off and takes it past my entire team to score. :evil Awesome match though. Red05
Wolverine, or any one for that matter. Have you been winning by one goal, and then gave away a free kick near the end, only for the player who takes it to smack it perfectly into the top corner. It's happened to me lots of times, and by god does it pee on your bonfire when it happens. My heart just sinks and I think, "For HELLS sake!!" It's annoying, but I have to smile at it. I haven't started the Master League yet, i'm going to win all of the leagues and cups first, then buy out most of the shop.

It has happened so many times to me. It's so much worse when you've really dominated the game and the scores have remained tied, they get that one free kick at the end and it kills you. DAMN!
