TPIB
WWE.com hasn't updated the ECW on Sci-Fi preview since the June 20'th episode. Conf. Matches/Events WWE/ECW Championship: Extreme Rules: Rob Van Dam © Vs. Edge I expect Edge to win w/ help from John Cena as a revenge angle from ONS. As it is similar to the stakes at ONS and I can see it being stated that Edge's title win is legitamate (sp?), due to it being contested under Extreme Rules. I guess Cena could cost Edge too. I wonder if Chris DeJoseph (the male stripper; I think he was Macho Libre too) will be involved in another Sandman Squash Match? Is there a requirement on each show for there to be at least one superstar/extremist that gets all the squash matches (off the top of my head: Umaga, Khali, & Sandman)? Guest Slim Jim
This is Tuesday's show... it's only Thursday (or 3am Friday). The last show hasn't even been on TV in the UK. Is there really any need for this thread now? Anyway... RVD will probably go over especially as it's both belts up for grabs... I expect RVD to keep the (WWE) belt until SNME or Summerslam. Expect a hot crowd as it's in Philly. Also, ECW isn't part of the supershow, it's live the next day in the same arena. Guest FreeSpirit
They should have had this event at the old ECW Arena, and not the Wachovia Center, the night after the huge Supershow. It would have suited an ECW event a whole lot more. I heard that WWE are struggling with ticket sales for this show, and its no surprise to me, seeing as its Independence Day, and only the ECW Extremists are scheduled to appear. Guest Slim Jim
I really don't understand why they rescheduled it from the old bingo hall. It would have been great to have a homecoming of such. They would also be able to say the arena is sold out... something no WWE show has very often.
TPIB
Also' date=' ECW isn't part of the supershow, it's live the next day in the same arena.[/quote'] I know, I messed up on that.

They would also be able to say the arena is sold out... something no WWE show has very often. you have to look at it this way.. many more fans will want to go to the who then when the old ECW was around.... why should the WWE loose out on a show that could make them lots of money just because a few people want it in there old home.... sorry but ECW has hit the big time for better or worse thery are not the old ECW so they should not be in there old home...... also tonight me thinks maybe RVD might loose his other belt me can only hope though
Guest Craig
Well, it looks like Big Show is the guy they picked to be new ECW Champion. Not sure what I think of that really, but it's not like they had a whole lot of other options.
Guest Dave7g
Looks like the first ever true ECW crowd tonight, and they aren't going to like the Big Show winning the belt tonight, I know I don't! Dammint!
Guest Craig
Well, they don't have many options for champ if they're suspending both RVD and Sabu, and if Angle is leaving. Sandman hasn't been used as anything but comedy skits really, and without his music, he's pretty much nothing. On a sidenote, what the hell? Why was Sabu talking? This isn't right. EDIT: Oh..and CM Punk debuted...... Edited July 5, 2006 by Craig
Guest Dave7g
I'm afraid the Big Show as the main guy in ECW is just so wrong. ECW is doomed now. And the match was awful as you would expect from Show.
Guest fspodjfsjdfsldk
well its the BIG SHOW!!!!! wow i thought the crowd was about to riot...... did love there marajuana chant at RVD when it clicked on them that RVD would not win the match...... im glad RVD is no longer champ but Paul hurt himself by the way he decided to get the belt of RVD.. in a big way i agree with the crowd he just sold ECW out by screwing his main guy..... if they wanted to take the belt off of him by a screw job atleast they could have had maybe cena or edge screw RVD not paul.... Guest Telf
Funnily enough, i thought this would happen as i curled up in bed last night I went down the ECW looking at guys they might give the title to. Kurt Angle is running as a face so the obvious choice would have been Show I'm in agreement with Dave here that Big Show isn't the guy to put the title in early stages of ECW. But despite this, it's still run in the WWE style and that's all too evident - you'll always have your faces and your heels. None of the bonafide original ECW talent have been given the chance to heel it up Actually, the only 2 i can think of to date are Show and Mike Knox
Guest Danny Styles
wow, if that would have been in an ECW arena there would have been a riot no doubt! but big show?! that reeks of WWE and that sucks
Guest StunningS2
Unbelievable, Big Show has now been WWE, WCW & ECW champion, a record I believe.

Ryan
I would of preferred Kurt Angle set the WWE, ECW, WCW title record, but Big Show is good enough, im happy he's ECW champion, who else co0uld they of put it on, Doring? Snow? KELLY?!
Guest Jung
Well I'm impressed. It seems like ECW is going to last less than the XFL did. Vince just let Heyman book it, before it gets even worse. I honestly think this is worse than 2000 WCW, with the constant booking changes, wrong choices for pushes etc. Just rubbish.
Guest Jack
Vince just let Heyman book it' date=' before it gets even worse. I honestly think this is worse than 2000 WCW, with the constant booking changes, wrong choices for pushes etc.[/quote'] What are these "constant" booking changes? The only one I can think of, is the Van Dam situation, which HAD to happen. You can't have him being caught with drugs, and let him get off with no punishment. If you are going to suspend certain wrestlers, or eve fire them, it shouldn't be any different for Van Dam. And who is a wrong choice for a push? The only two I can think of are, The Sandman and Test. Both are horrible workers, who add nothing to the company in the slightest. If you mean Big Show or Angle, that needed to happen, otherwise the WWE fans, who ECW need to have, wouldn't care about the ECW product, and it would fail yet again, because it would only get the tiny amount of viewers as it did last time. Heyman booking, I can gree with, but I do think he still has some power. If anything, the addition of CM Punk and Mike Knox prove that. Neither were doing much, and he got them there, which he was he wanted. It looks like both are going to be getting a good push, especially Punk, which shows he does have some say, seeing as Punk especially, hasn't made a good impression. As for the show, it was a lot better than the previous weeks, mainly due to the lack of WWE wrestlers. This was the first show, which was ECW, and little else, which is the first step for the brand now.
Guest Shoobinator
ECW sounds amazing last night. What a great Idea to make The Big Show champion. The Big Show has really impressed me in the way he has been pushed in ECW! I hope The Big Show squashes everyone in his path for about 18 months to become the unstoppable monster he should have been pushed as when he first joined WWE. Fletch
As much as I hate ECW, last night finally had something I liked....Test kicking a man in the head. Oh sorry, Test kicking Al Snow's Head....into the crowd Test is the saviour, at least until CM Punk gets here. Why must they put great talents like Test and Punk on ECW, yet we still have to suffer with shite like Mark Henry and The "Not So" Great Khali on SmackDown? Ryan
The finisher Test used looked awesome, but im confused because i didnt see the full effect, did Test spinning Snow around and drop in a Neckbreaker position, or a Diamond Cutter/RKO position? Khali is a friggin joke and Mark Henry should be no where near the main event. In fact he shouldn't even be anywhere near the WWE. I wouldn't even force him on ECW. He has no personality, is terrible on the mike and clumsy and boring in the ring. Lol just realised that also describes Khali. :)

Ryan
Mark Henry is far better than Test in every aspect. Test has the BIG BOOT~~~! and Henry doesnt, thus making Test better than Henry in every way imaginable.
