My favourite football management game is Championship Manager 01-02 and I would like to know whether anybody else on the forum still plays it because I believe it is still quite popular amongst fans.

Yes I did because I rarely use the video games part of the forum but I will post on the thread you linked me to and wait for this one to be closed
Yeh I bought Champ Manager 01/02 a few months ago for 27p at Pc World! It's an awesome game, kept me up for hours on it.

Kaneite there are several players I recommend on championship manager 01-02

(after the official patch has been installed)

Peter Weatherston - Striker for Queen of the South,he is English and costs no more than £100,000 and is a bargain.

Kieran Richardson - English Midfielder available as a free agent at the beginning of the game,if he signs for a club outside the premiership he'll attract top flight interest at the end of his first season which means you can negotiate for a good deal.

Mike Duff - Defender from Northern Ireland who plays for Cheltenham in division two,his attributes are very good for a player in that league and should not cost more than a million.

I remember the hours spent playing CM01/02. Tis indeed one of the best ever in my opinion. I remember managing Liverpool, selling Heskey to Munich for 15million...yes you read that right :D and then signing a rather good Norwegian striker by the name of Sigurd Rushfeldt for about 2million. His goals along with King Robbie and Owen, fired me to 2 Premiership titles and a Champions League win.

He is a CM/FM legend in my eyes, along with Emile Mpenza.

I had an awesome Bayern team on CM 01/02. We went over 15 games without conceding and Maxim Tsigalko was banging them in from everywhere. I prefer FM though.
Anybody know any jinx teams,I rarely do well with Southampton !

I've heard people complain about bogey teams, but I've never had a real problem with any side (probably because I usually get bored after two seasons and start a new game).

On a sidenote, I know somebody who got Botswana to the World Cup on CM01/02, where they got a draw against Germany. Can anybody beat that achievement?

Botswana at the world cup ?,that's a great achievement which can only be topped by someone who can guide Torquay to champions league glory !
Nah, Botswana's the greater accomplishment. At a club side, you can buy better players while with a country, you don't have that luxury.

I prefer the championship manager 03/04 season and went up to 2012 when accidently while cleaning my computer content and deleting files it stopped working and couldn't find the data so i lost the file :( i was united and my best team was (before corruped) GK :Robinson DL:Silvestre/Bridge( Silvestre is a quality player and alway gives great ratings, bridge is a equally good player) DR: G.Johnson/John O'shea(Both brilliant brought Johnson off chelsea for 1.2 mil his value went up to 18m recommended!, O'Shea's went up to 15m) DC: Lucio( World class) Rio(Solid)Terry(Solid) MR:Simao(reliable and a bargain buy for what i paid for him 5m!)Dyer(Solid alway seems to be good in champ manager for me)ML: Van der vaart(get him hes brilliant brought for 22m value went up to 33m but declined after but the quality was still there)Joe cole (another bargain buy at 8m value was 22m and he was backup to vaart! players better in MC tho) MC: Vieira (since i lost diego one of the best young players in the game i signed vieira for bt 13m off juve and he was solid in most games infact he played every game since i brought him) Appiah (great player plays brilliant with vieira expensive at 17.5m) Malbranque (great super sub and worthy replacement) Blondel (from spurs a great talent for the future value went from 3m to 19.5m at one time) wilkie (from liverpool reserves only played him a few times average ratings would probably play better for smaller teams) FC: Henry (what can i say? magnificent scored 44 in 48 games last season and was currently 15 in 12 with 8 assists. brought for 5mil at 29yr old a bargain buy but his value stayed low at 1mil but he alway impressed and would get the odd hattrick or two each season) Jamie Donnelly (i think he is at norwich in the beginning not too sure bt i brought him in 2009 for 17.5m off man city and hes nothing short of amazing scores nearly every game in 1st season scored 12 in 10 starts second season played 24 scored 22 and was currently 17 goals in 12 games with average rating of 8.89 value decreased tho but never disappointed me scored when you needed some magic in a game. Tevez (what can i say? a bargain at 10m recommended to all became a star striker and scores around 35plus every season for me value was currently 27.5m) Rooney (brought from everton for 18.5 played good for a few seasons but was more of a assist player from 2007 onwards didnt play him as much only when main strikers were injured or were rested didnt really play well for me his value always stayed tho brought for 17 m went up to 37m at one point doesn't score alot but creates alot of assists.

Reccommended buys for me quality signings:D

G.Johnson (chelsea)*****

Diego( santos)*****

Tevez (boca juniors)*****

Van der vaart (ajax)*****

Hope thats helped someone:xyx and best of all i got the game from computer exchange (CEX) for only £0.50:thumbsup bargain:D

Bogus teams for me were nottm forest, everton and blackburn at one point really annoying teams to play against especially away would alway score against you so early in the game.

Arsenal gave me aggrevation most of the time my side's played against them due to Thierry Henry !
Arsenal got weaker and weaker on my game and were on the verge of relegation last season. Newcastle, Chelsea & Everton were amongst the top teams in the division and would alway put on a good match against me.

Is this on the 01-02 champ manager ?

Who was your worst signing ever and why ?

Mine was Jamie Pollock from Crystal Palace because he is usually unhappy and cheap to buy but every time he causes upset in the dressing room !

There's one of the ChampMan editions, can't remember which one - but the greatest signing is a Swedish wúnderkid called KENNEDY

BAKIRCIOGLU. Absolute genius player, could pick him up from Hammarby for about £300k and he would just be awesome every time.

Im pretty sure thats the 99-00 version and in that game you could pick up a Norweigen wonderkid in Mads Jorgensen who was just as good as kennedy Bakircioglu.

Is this on the 01-02 champ manager ?

No im talking about the 03-04 version.

Who was your worst signing ever and why ?

Mine was Gilberto Martinez from valencia for 17.5 sold for 5 million utter rubbish.

Belleti from Villareal for 19.5 sold for 1m HUGE LOSS got one rating of 9 and the rst 5s and 6s. Most of my other signings have been solid apart from shevy & ronaldinho whos value alway seem to drop so easily after paying big bucks for them.

Top (cheapish) player to sign - Tomas Sivok, cracking defensive midfielder whose only 21. Oh, on FM2006.
I've just started a game as manager of Papua New Guinea. This should be entertaining.

Its because he's called KENNEDY. See? Back in 00-01 look for a guy called Frederik Lagemyr, he's only 16 but turns into an amazing winger in about two years. Can play both sides too, which is a real asset.:xyx
