Guest DarkMatchJobber
What was your favourite wrestling game from the NES,SNES,Megadrive,PS1 or N64 ? I enjoyed Tecmo Wrestling on the Nes but my favourite would probably have to be Smackdown 2 know your role on the Playstation because it introduced create a ppv to the series plus the season mode was awesome. Guest MrFill
There is only ONE wrestling game to look at if you include the N64, and that's No Mercy - the best Western wrestling game, bar none.

It's the benchmark against all future games, and none have come anywhere near it. Is it too much for ask for an updated version, with new roster, and better graphics, may be a few more match types? The playability and gameplay is unrivalled.

Guest DarkMatchJobber
No Mercy was okay but the controls were annoying,I did enjoy customising appearances and cloning wrestlers though. I think Smackdown vs Raw was one of the best because it hit gameplay just right and had a lot of replayability in it.

No Mercy had great controls, a simple and effective system that allowed all sorts of complicated moves in an easy manner as well as the best collection of moves in any game... I also love the Fire Pro series on the SNES and still play Fire Pro X on my PC quite alot. It was such an excellent game with so much depth to it. But the Smackdown vs Raw games are far better, all they're missing in comparrison to No Mercy is a decent AI Other deservable mentions are: wrestlefest on the arcade for its cool graphics and fun. Wrestlemania Challenge on the snes, cos its so crap its good. Raw 2 on the Xbox, because the season mode is hillarious, the random boxes falling on people, and the fact that you can make your guy huge when he's in the ring, but a midget when he's back stage. Guest Andrew
No Mercy is my favourite Wrestling game of all time and still go back and play it from time to time. I also enjoyed both the WCW games that used the same engine before it WCW/nWo World Tour and then WCW/nWo Revenge. It's good seeing where the game engine progressed from. WCW/nWo Revenge was easily the best WCW game they ever created :P
Guest MrFill
There was a problem with the WCW games and their "Rumble" match - a whip to the ropes followed by a shoulder block was enough to get ANYBODY out of the ring.
Guest Hemme
Ah wrestling games hold a dear place in my heart, as far back as Rock 'n' Wrestle on the Spectrum, I had to save up for 4 weeks to buy that game. Then there was WWF Steel Cage Challenge for the Master System, got that for my birthday in 1993, very basic, but loved it to bits. For Crimbo 1994 I got a SNES, bought Wrestlemania for it, it impressed me no end, played it to death, even though it only had a few characters & no finishing moves! For my birthday in 1995, I bought WWF Raw for the SNES, blew me away totally, the rumble match was great, showed who eliminated who & the times of entrances & eliminations, very cool. The first wrestling game on the PS I bought was WCW vs the World, it was fun for a while, but the fact there were hardly any WCW wrestlers & loads of nobodies annoyed me. Then I bought WWF Attitude, hated it sadly, found it hard to play. I really enjoyed the WCW games on the N64, easy to play & had a fun feel to them, like Wrestlemania 2000 & No mercy the things I loved about these games was the fact that if you worked over a wrestlers leg, they began to limp or smack them round the head & they'd clutch at their heads, loved the tap outs too & the replays, I'm shocked the current WWE games dont have these. Then came the Smackdown games & IMO They get better every year, still really enjoy playing this years version, can't wait for the next! Guest A.C.
I've got all the old SNES, arcade and N64 games - some good, some not so good. All worth a look for a trip down memory lane, though. :)

Raw is War on megadrive and Snes was such a cool game when it came out, i used to love doink the clowns field goal kick where he'd boot them out the ring, it's terrible now though, i can't do with the hold button mashing system of wrestling games. Forgot about WCW vs The World, i loved that game. I'd never seen WCW, i just knew a few of the guy, like shaolin who looked like hakushi and a few old WWE wrestlers. Didn't seem to have any big stars in it though. And yea make someone tap out in No Mercy is great, that crack of a bone and the scream of pain before a tap out was so satisfying rather than the 'oh they've submitted' that they have in the newer games. I thought Royal Rumble on the dreamcast was very underrated. If you took it for what is was, a pick up an dplay arcade game it was very fun, i loved trying to beat my previous rumble score, it's definatly the best royal rumble that's ever been done in a game

Burakiosaurus
bloody No Mercy ... first they release it with a glitch so it keeps resetting itself, then they recall them all, and re-release it, and the blood disappears! top, top game tho, i remember them including Raven's accessories and clothes and taunts, and i spent a whole sunday afternoon creating the perfect Raven, those were the days!
