Ryan
A very entertaining press conference with Jim Cornette was held today to promote the TNA "Victory Road" PPV which emanates from Orlando ths Sunday. Cornette was said to put over TNA very well and highlight the major differences between the product and WWE. He also took shots at Vince Russo, Kevin Dunn, the WWE creative team, Paul Heyman and ECW. LOP Here's an idea Cornette, actually, here's an idea TNA, when you have time to premote yourself, damn well premote yourself and stop talking about someone you could only dream of being remotely as good as! :roll
Guest DarkMatchJobber
Jim Cornette is every bit as good as Paul Heyman in terms of booking and managerial skills, yes he should not promote the competition but it's a habit he has not grown out of and probably never will. I think that Victory Road is going to be superior to the Great American Bash.
Dead Crow
Here's an idea Cornette' date=' actually, here's an idea TNA, when you have time to premote yourself, damn well premote yourself and stop talking about someone you could only dream of being remotely as good as! :roll[/quote'] Way to not know a damn thing about what you're talking about, as per usual. Cornette was ASKED questions about WWE, so he answered what was given to him..
Guest MrFill
stop talking about someone you could only dream of being remotely as good as! :roll Here's the thing, "good" is subjective. Some people prefer the TNA product over the WWE product. So, you should have used the word "sucessful" or "popular" rather than "good".

Ryan
stop feeling sorry for the WWE It's TNA i feel sorry for. it's not like they never took shots at WCW was it that was different, for 1. WCW & WWE were in competition, WWE & TNA arnt, and 2. WCW & WWE were both taking shots at eachother and making it pretty obvious, TNA are making their cheap shots obvious, if WWE are taking shots their keeping it well hidden. Guest Dave7g
It's Jim Cornette taking "shots", although as far as I know he was just answering the questions he was asked, just like Mr. Batista did last year. And Jim also took shots at WCW when he was in WWF and everyone looks back on those promos fondly, why is it such a big deal now, he's just being honest as always. Guest MrFill
Jim was answering questions asked of him, if HE answered them in a derogatory way, then it's HIM who has the WWE/TNA issue. If people here wish to try to begin a WWE vs TNA argument here, then the thread will be closed. Discuss what Jim said, but don't turn this into an anti-TNA thread. Guest A.C.
From the report above it seems that, rather than outright bash the WWE, he talked about how TNA was different, not better. And doesn't Cornette get a pass any time he opens his mouth anyway?
Guest Dave7g
It would be a good idea also to LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW first, before condemning the legendary figure in such a silly way. Why Mr. P gets so upset when WWE is fairly criticsised is beyond me.
Guest Slim Jim
I'm guessing Draven knows what he's talking about here as I think it's the press confrence he was part of.. so listen to his show on Sunday.
Guest rawiswar
When it comes to Cornette taking shots at WWE I'm really not bothered in the slightest. If he feels the need to speak about some of the issues that annoy him with WWE then so be it. Thinking about it, some of the things WWE do are frustrating so it only seems natural occasionally coming out with the odd remark about how they do things. Nothing wrong in that really. Who saw the episode of Impact where he did the address with the podium in the ring and said something like "No, I'm not giving this belt to you like in some other promotions where they give it to a family member just so they can have the belt". It was something like this anyway, and the way he said it - it was really funny. Let's face it, people want to see someone from TNA have a few shots at WWE. It's (1) Entertaining to see (2) Usually funny (3) Actually about a valid point. So what's the big deal? If the things Cornette said were unfair then sure, he's wrong for making up crap, but he isn't, he's talking about real things that go on. And to say he shouldn't be mentioning other shows on TNA, well it's not like they devote their whole hour to promoting and making remarks about WWE now is it, just the odd remark here and there, worth a few cheap laughs if you ask me. Guest Chriscare
TNA doesn't seem to realise that alot of their fans are WWE fans. It's not like WCW and WWE where you had to watch one or the other because they were competiting at the same time on the same night. Alot of TNA fans will watch WWE, and by insulting the WWE without and provakating thay could be losing fans, i mean there hardly going to gain any from it. Guest rawiswar
Then he gave it to Jarret the next week :roll Yes but only under a certain condition where he defends it at the next PPV. I reckon when he does he will lose it. So in the long run it will work out for the fans that want to see Jarret stripped of the belt.

Guest MrFill
Jarrett did win the match though, even though the ref cheated, he actually won, so he should have the belt.
Guest rawiswar
Again, the only reason he gave it to Jarret in the end was under the condition that he defends it in a match at the next PPV which is where Jarret will lose the title fair and square, pleasing all the fans that want to see him stripped of the belt in the long run. What about in WWE all the times HHH has won the title unfairly and kept it. So it's the same with Jarret here as he gets to keep the title untill he loses it in a fair and square match. There's no way it's staying on Jarret for long, so as said, in the long run it will work out the fans way. Gee.
Guest MrFill
What about in WWE all the times HHH has won the title unfairly and kept it. The "dig" by Cornette in the promo was because the World Title was "created" and handed to HHH, he didn't win any tournament or even a match, he was just given it.
