Guest Wolverine
The nominees are: Andriy Shevchenko (AC Milan to Chelsea - £30m) Matthew Upson (Birmingham to West Ham - £6m) Emile Heskey (Birmigham to Wigan - £5.5m) Jason Euell (Charlton to Middlesbrigh - 300k) Khalid Boulahrouz (Hamburg to Chelsea - £8.5m) Mark Gonzalez (Albacete to Liverpool - £4.5m)
Guest FreeSpirit
Has to be Shevchenko. Granted he did score some very important goals for Chelsea this season, but for a £30M transfer fee, he didnt score enough, and for his first season in the Premiership it will be considered an expensive flop. Guest big pau hoolinator
Shevchenko or Boulahroz I cannot decide atm
Guest Gooneronastick
Sheva was bought to score goals and failed. Simple as that.
Guest Citizen Kane
Shevchenko, easily. It got to the point I was dissaponited he wasn't playing in the Cup Final.
Guest The Great Ahmar
Khalid Boulahrouz is 8.5 Million Chelsea will never get back. In fact he is one of the worst signings Chelsea have ever made.
Guest Danny Styles
Schevchenko, i like the guy and hope he does better next season (i believe he will) but despite scoring some important goals for us this season he didn't even come close to proving his £30 mill price tag correct thing is about Boula, he is pretty crap, but he was bought in a panic as Chelsea (through their on fault) lost Gallas and Huth so had to get someone in quickly even if he was pretty bad in the end
Guest big pau hoolinator
I have settled on Shevchenko because Boularouz is still quite young and could become really good whereas Sheva needed to make an impact he is getting on and just didnt do that
Guest dpddave
i think some of the others have had worse seasons than sheva to be fair, look at Euell,he never did a thing....BUT they didnt cost 30million so has to be him.
Guest The Genetic Jackhammer
Sheva was bought to win the Champions league, it didnt happen. I dont remember him doing much in the Champions League apart from against Valencia so for his price tag he flopped this season. Boularhouz is absolute garbage by the way. Guest The Crippler
I think Shevchenko's a great player and I think he will do well next year but it's hard not to pick him based on the fee spent and the return for that money.
Guest JC
Sheva. Hardly means he's rubbish; he just plain and simple is the worst value for money.
Guest Drake
Shevchenko all the way. Poor Chelsea. :lol
Guest Proudy
As much as it pains me to say, as I adore him, it has to be Shevchenko.
Red05 343
For the reasons already stated, it's Sheva for me. You pay £30 million, you want the goods. Also, regarding Jason Euell... Upon joining Middlesbrough he declared "I'm over the moon". Euell played his first game in a Boro shirt away at Arsenal. The game finished 1-1 and Euell got the assist as James Morrision finished to put Boro 1 up. In his so far short spell at Middlesbrough, he has widely impressed, picking up a man of the match award in the process. Doesn't sound so bad.
