With all the talk of unheralded games in the forum at the moment, I thought it would be a good idea to list what you feel are, in your opinion, the best ten games outside the usual listings.

Here are mine, in no order.

Fear Effect (PS1)

Fear Effect 2: Retro Helix (PS1)

ToeJam & Earl (Megadrive/Genesis)

Duke Nukem: Time to Kill (PS1)

Thats 10 that have not already been mentioned, across a few platforms, i doubt any of the above games sold well, but all are superb.

Was chatting to Colin last night in the chat room, and there's so many adventure games that could and should be named; among others. I don't think Gringo quite got the concept either, saying that Ocarina of Time tops many lists, and Link to the Past is always placed highly...oh well. Just some more, sure I'll be back later with more too:

Viewtiful Joe (GC)

Full Throttle (PC)

Beneath a Steel Sky

The Secret of Mana (SNES)

Burning Rangers (Saturn)

Samba Da Amigo (DC)

Impossible Mission (C64)

Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (PS)

Another World (I played the MD version)

Gitaroo Man (PS2)

Viewtiful Joe (GC)

I was gonna say Viewtiful Joe, too. It truely is a kick-ass game!

"Henshin a-go-go, baby!"

I'd like to throw in two older games as just missing out on my top 10...those being "Castle of Illusion" and "Quackshot" starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck respectively....both on Megadrive/Genesis.

Loved that game so so so so much!!

My honourable mentions go to Roland on the Ropes, Amstrad CPC 464 and also Alundra on the SNES.

Personally i will say this, having been self brought up on the Zelda games, i will say that a link to the past is far better than OOT personally. link to the past just feels like a great game (which i have completed many a time) and still makes me want to play it time and time again even in this age where Sony and Microsoft are big names in the industry.

Agree 100% on A Link to the Past. The storyline was great, and it was a pretty huge game for its time. Every boss was fun to fight, and playing through the second portion of it for the first time was quite challenging. Real epic.

I'm milling around the web at the moment and came across another game that was awesome (for its time), but sold about two copies overall.

Enemy Zero on the Sega Saturn, which is a good rip-off of the movie Alien.

My list of underrated PC games which are all crackers.

Solider of Fortune - Activison

Panzers Phase One & Two - CDV

Blade Runner - Virgin Games/Westwood

F22 Air Dominance Fighter - DID

Discworld Noir - InfoGrames

Dungeon Keeper - Bullfrog

X-Wing Vs TIE Fighter - Lucas Arts

SU-27 Flanker - Flying Legends

Homeworld - Epic

StarCraft - Diablo

Final Fantasy VII

Metal Gear Solid

Ico

Deus Ex

Fahrenhiet

Syphon Filter 2

Metal Gear Solid 3

Twisted Metal: World Tour

Command and Conquer: Red Alert

Max Payne

ToeJam & Earl (Megadrive/Genesis)

Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast)

It's kid friendly "PG" veneer scared a lot of people away from enjoying this great game.

Chrono Trigger - SNES

Conkers Bad Fur Day - N64

Discworld Noir - InfoGrames

I've only played the two Discworlds released in the US, and I loved the hell outta them. I can't recommend Dicsworld, and Discworld 2: Mortality Bites enough. But it doesn't seem like they plan on releasing Noir any time soon.

Twisted Metal

Command and Conquer: Red Alert

OK, I've got three more to go...

Final Fantasy 8. Yeah you heard me. It got a lot of flack more than most FF's get, but I loved it. the time skips to the past, the written exams, Selphie's BOOYAKA!!, and I even got a little teary-eyed in that dramatic space shuttle scene after swimming aimlessly through the vacuum of space to save Rinoa.

Tekken from 3 onward. I suppose it was pretty popular but it was also another in a long line of fighting games. I just really liked playing as Hwoarang, he was one of the few people I could counter my oldest brother's Law with.

Super Tecmo Bowl one of the only sports games I ever really liked. Along with NFL Blitz, NBA Jam, Track & Field, and the street basketball game for NES.

Tombi (PS1)

Little Big Adventure (PS1)

Suikoden II (PS1)
