The only decent Street fighter movie is the manga verson

Anime version you mean, unless you are talking about Manga Entertainment who made it. Though SF2 DID have a Manga comic too which was pretty cool.

Will Kylie be in it?

Probably not... and it will be a poorer film for it :(

If it's poorer than the last movie it'll be in Plan 9 territory.

My only hope for this is that they go with a Batman Begins type "the first movie never happened" philosophy. As for the Anime movie the plot was about fifty times better and far more faithful to the videogame.

The only pluses from the first film were Kylie and Raul Julia's superb portrayal of Bison.

Sorry for dragging this up, but things got a helluva lot better in the months since this was last spoke of.

More Join Street Fighter II Movie

Clarke Duncan, Klein and Yune Onboard

Source: Variety

19 February 2008

Three more have joined the cast of the upcoming Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li, which already has Smallville's Kristin Kreuk in the title role. Those actors are Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune – so you know it's going to be good.

Clarke Duncan is great casting as the enormous boxer Balrog, but we've never heard of the characters Klein and Yune will be taking on. A little light Wikipeding tells us that Klein's Nash is an old war buddy of Guile, the best character in the game and enthusiastic sonic boomer. Yune's Gen is a mystical master assassin who was friends with Chun Li and taught her some of her moves. Clearly, these two characters turned up after we became too old and arthtritically fingered for the game.

Andrzej Bartkowiak, sworn enemy of spell-check, will direct from a script Voltron writer Justin Marks. Shooting is set to start in March in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver.

Olly Richards

I must admit, the casting is giving me hope that this will be an above-average movie.

I don't know DC the first Streetfighter had a decent cast (other than Van Damme) and the movie was substandard. In these movies it is the action and storyline that helps it along. Mortal Kombat was a great movie and I think I only knew one actor in it the rest were unknowns.

But it's Micheal...Clarke...Duncan...

As BALROG

Plus, this isn't going to be a Vam Damme movie, which instant puts all movies halfway into the grave.

Other than Bloodsport, I don't think I can watch a Van Damme movie all the way through.

The first movie only had Raul Julia and Wes Studi as decent actors IMO.

This movie already has more name value.

I totally agree about Raul Julia and Wes Studi. Van Damme stunk up the screen as he does in most movies. Maybe he was the problem and that's why I didn't think the film was so great. I'll give the new one the benefit of the doubt.:xyx
