Highest Drawing Match as of right now?

Using the currently active talent (no injured or retired people) what do you think could be the highest drawing wrestling match as of right now?

Personally, I think it would be Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker.

They are two established legends, they haven't met in a 1-on-1 match in nearly 10 years, and they are consistently putting on great matches at this time.

I don't think anything else at this point in time could draw more than that match when using the currently active talent.

Undertaker v Sting would draw more I think, especially at a large PPV. Or even Cena v Sting.

HBK v Undertaker would be a great draw if, like Shawn and The Rock, they'd never really crossed paths before now.

I dont think HBK vs Taker would be a big draw, I expect it might do 250,000 on a B-PPV. They have wrestled before plenty of times, plus there is no reason for them to wrestle. If there were a great angle which really made people care about them having a match, maybe...but I doubt it.

Triple H vs HBK MIGHT draw half decent, just because they recently were DX, but I doubt that aswell. Cant see anybody drawing big right now.

Cena vs Batista would probably do well.

YEP. NOTHING LIKE AN OLD OVW STANDOFF FOR THE RIGHT OF TOTAL SUPREMECY. Cena vs. Batista sounds good.I'm with bigmatt on his one.:xyx

Brock Lesnar vs Kurt Angle would draw bigger than any match in history...in UFC.

Michaels vs Taker wouldnt draw a dollar nowadays, it didn't draw that much when it was worth seeing anyway.

HHH vs Undertaker vs Batista vs HBK vs Edge vs Jericho

Right now that is the biggest drawing match I can think up within the constraints of this thread (ie. no injured/retired people etc), the reason it would draw big (by todays standards) is pretty obvious really I would think

Just adding more people to the match wont make it draw more. One on one matches have and always will draw more. Or at least have the potential to do so.

Not be saying that when I think up some crazy, insane, ludicrus stipulation to go with it ;):D

Straight up singles match with a long, oldschool build between two people the fans give a toss about is the only way to draw huge numbers, ala Hogan vs HBK.

The only time a match with alot of people involved in draws is usually the Rumble.

Problem is though Belty today (and with this threads specifications of no injured/retired people its harder) there isn't that many people the fans really care about who haven't fought time and again that you could build up like Hogan vs HBK

No match today would draw the old school numbers so its just what would draw the biggest for todays standards and IMO with the state of wrestling right now with the injuries, fan appathy etc now putting those 6 in a match with a good length build, not just a 2 week 'oh its this at the next PPV main event buy it' type promotion of the match would draw big by todays standards

Personally, I think DC is on the right track. With the right introduction and handling, Sting could be (comparatively) huge in the WWE. And his matches would draw more than currently usual for the WWE, since they'd be matches we hadn't seen before in WWE.

Unfortunately, WWE would probably ruin any potential this had, and it'd land up drawing nothing

I guess it depends what you class as "big numbers" aswell. I mean, NOTHING in WWE today will draw huge really, outside of WrestleMania, the WrestleMania draws on its own merit alone, not the guys who are main eventing the show.

Lets face it, if Cena vs HBK had main evented No Mercy rather than WM23, do any of us really believe No Mercy would have drawn over 1,000,000 buys? Of course it wouldnt. WrestleMania sells itself on name alone.

I think to a degree, all the big 4 do as they average around 400,000+ each per year. I think a B-Show drawing over 300,000 is a big number these days.

What the hell is all this Sting nonsense? Batista, Triple H, both Hardy's, Rey Mysterio, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels........are all bigger stars than Sting and can put on better matches. Sting is a WCW guy, he'd bomb in the WWE.

As of right now, without Cena, you're choice for big money matches is limited. With Cena? Batista vs Cena and Triple H vs Cena are matches I'd chew my left arm off to see and I'm sure the ppv buying public would too.....if booked in a sensible manner.

Only went with Sting cause he IS massively popular with wrestling audiences. Yes, he'd need a proper introduction to WWE audiences, which is why I said it'd need to be done right.

Also WM24 being in Florida, which is in the South (NWA/WCW/TNA territory), Sting would get a massive reaction from the live crowd. A debut there would interest all the viewers at home to find out what the fuss is about.

And I doubt many of those listed could put on better matches than Sting, apparently he's the best he's been in 10 years. Besides, drawing has nothing to do with match quality. Unfortunate but true.

Um, you can see Cena vs HHH on tape....

Batista vs Cena?

Really??

Seriously???

You realise that it would be a crapfest, since Cena is not capable of carrying Batista, and Batista needs a JCB's worth of carrying...

Oh, and as to WCW guys failing in WWE : Woooooo! and RAW IS JERICHO say hi, not to mention the 5 time, 5 time,5 time,5 time,5 time WCW Champion and the Biggest Little Man.

to say sting would fail if he went to WWE is absolutly mental. Hes too well known. Hes not some ex WCW guy who was ok. Hes a top superstar.

secondly i'd love to see MVP go head to head with taker, it has all the right angles. Ledgend vs cocky noob. Ok orton is the ledgend killer, but i think it could be great seeing MVp and taker meeting in the ring

Goldberg and Steiner both bombed in WWE really. The fact that he is a top name WCW guy dictates Vince will mis-use or bury him.
