  1. 1. What Did You Think of RAW #790?

Since CM Punk became World Heavyweight Champion, he has been mobbed by Superstars hoping to get their opportunity to win it away from him. With neither a General Manager or the WWE Chairman to set matches, last Monday night saw John Cena, Batista, Kane and JBL face off in a Fatal Four Way Match to determine which of them should face Punk at The Great American Bash. Batista won the contest and will compete for the World Title in just two short weeks. How will The Animal garner momentum in the coming weeks?

After Batista pinned Kane in the Fatal Four Way, the Big Red Monster went on a rampage outside the ring, manhandling WWE production crew and announcers alike, including Jerry “The King” Lawler & Michael Cole. While tearing apart the ringside area, Kane screamed “Is he alive or is he dead?” Who is the Big Red Monster referring to, and what other outbursts can we expect from him in the coming weeks? Who is "He"?

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston won his title from Chris Jericho at Night of Champions, and managed to successfully defend it against Y2J. On Monday he continued his winning streak on RAW by defeating Charlie Haas. Before the Jamaican Champion could soak in his victory however, he was brutally assaulted by Paul Burchill, who performed his signature Curb Stomp on Kingston. Does Burchill have his eye on Kingston’s Intercontinental Title? And how long until he faces the Jamaican Superstar in the ring?

In addition to facing one another as part of a Fatal Four Way, John Cena took an extra act of retribution against JBL on Monday Night. Retaliating for being escorted out by the self-made millionaire’s private security force the week before, Cena and Cryme Tyme took crowbars and baseball bats to JBL’s limo. To what lengths will the Longhorn Loudmouth go to get back at the Chain Gang Commander?

To catch all the build up to The Great American Bash, make sure to tune into RAW, Monday Night at 9/8 CT, only on the USA Network.

I know I don't typically post anything other than the "official" stuff in the opening threads, but I wanted to note that WWE.com is taking a poll on who "he" is that Kane is referring to. It also gives the odds. I will update these poll numbers, but here are the poll numbers (in order of the odds given by WWE.com) as of Friday afternoon:

Paul Bearer (Odds- 1 To 3)- Votes: 15.25%

The Undertaker (Odds- 1 To 4)- Votes: 55.78%

Mr. McMahon (Odds- 1 To 5)- Votes: 9.00%

The Boogeyman (Odds- 1 To 8)- Votes: 1.59%

Jim Ross (Odds- 1 To 10)- Votes: 0.69%

Pete Rose (Odds- 1 To 50)- Votes: 1.31%

Jacob Goodnight (Odds- 1 To 75)- Votes: 2.01%

Ranjin Singh (Odds- 1 To 80)- Votes: 0.33%

Tupac Shakur (Odds- 1 To 100)- Votes: 8.16%

Captain America (Odds- 1 To 1,000)- Votes: 1.51%

Other- Votes: 3.74%

That's right. More "fans" think it is Captain America over Jim Ross or Ranjin Singh.

You got the odds the wrong way round. That article is hilarious though.

"Notice that Kane elected to focus his hostility toward the Raw announce team. The Big Red Machine is no stranger to competing on the Monday night brand and its long-time broadcaster, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross. It’s possible that Kane missed J.R. and Michael Cole’s WWE Draft swap weeks ago and his dark soul led him to think the worst for the Oklahoman."

Is that a subliminal message I spy in the list of names? Is there a reason Paul Bearer is mentioned twice?

I hope it's not Undertaker, Bearer or Vince, as all three are in their own storylines at the moment. I really want Kane to be talking about himself, the "monster inside" that he's talking about.

It came after another loss, so perhaps he feels he's lost his edge and wants it back. Having reviewed the "Undertaker 15-0" DVD, I got to watch the original Kane (the dominating, and destructive, force of nature version of Kane) take on his brother.

It is that guy I hope Kane is referring to.

There's a storyline with Paul Bearer? Have I missed something?

I will agree with DC that the old Kane was great, however I doubt he'd be talking about himself, per se. Seems too...something.

I just hope its Paul Bearer because:

a) "Is he alive?" makes sense (the concrete business). Vince is presumed alive and Taker is definitely alive.

b) Kane should care about him, rather than about say...Vince. Or Jim Ross.

Ah, it would be great to see Paul Bearer back. I used to mark like hell for him! I wouldnt mind a Taker heel turn when he comes back either. Not going to happen though.

Tons of theories and speculations running wild as it pertains to the ending of Raw this past Monday and who Kane was referring to with the "Is he alive or dead?" comments. Paul Bearer posted a blog Tuesday teasing the fans with a potential return mysteriously saying that he couldn't answer the question of whether it was him or not Kane was talking about. However, Paul put up yet another post yesterday with a big "question mark" graphic and the headline, "Kayfabe is still alive...but is Paul Bearer?"

I hope it isnt 'the monster inside', that would be so incredibly lame on all levels.
I agree to a point, but I'd be hoping the pay-off would make up for it. Kane, in all his indestructible first-year glory would be great.

What pay-off though? He cant wrestle himself, its not like they'd bring in a Fake Kane or something :lol

The pay-off, to me, would be the return of the original gimmick for Kane and nothing more. His original organ music theme, the red lights, the flames (ok, the latter are still there), the complete no-selling and the full costume and mask.

That is the pay-off; a re-invigoration of Kane by turning back the clock... as my signature says - the future has already happened, we just don't remember it.

I must say, as much as I do like Kane's current music as a song, his old-school music is so freakin' badass.

Fail. I was listening to the old song just the other day and it kicks so much ass compared to his new "default" generic rock rubbish that it wouldn't do him any harm to go back to it.

I was thinking about how Slipknot are coming back with all new masks and how they all look more sinister than before, and Kane came to mind. Even the lack of hair isn't an issue. If it isn't for Corey Taylor, it isn't for Kane.
