Nicki just asked her Mum and she got, in order:

1. Hulk Hogan

2. Jake the Snake

3. Texas Tornado

4. Paul Roma

5. The Rock

Paul Roma is mainstream, baby! :lol

I'll ask my grandparents when I see them later.

Mick McManus

Hacksaw Jim Duggan

Giant Haystacks

so only one US one i think it is the same one as dad said he wrestled in the late 50's early 60's so could even be a different hacksaw. Then he would know none. In dads defence he is 73

Jim Duggan didnt take up the Hacksaw name until he joined the WWF in 1987 I dont believe. I think Butch Reed used the name Hacksaw at some point in the 80's too.
This was someone in the 50 and 60's and 70's so assumed it was hacksaw now will google to see who it is.

I'm ineligible for this thread as my mum is a huge mark. I might ask my father in the morning though, he avoids our wrestling viewing at all costs but he did take us to the SD/ECW house show last month, without knowing who anyone was. Maybe a name will stick in his mind.

EDIT: OK, I asked him...

1. Batista

2. Undertaker

3. MR KENNEDY...KENNEDY! (Yes, he said it like that)

4. Eddie Guerrero

So...yeah. I thought he'd say JBL as he actually likes JBL. He likes Kennedy too. He saw Batista on the SD tour, mum always talks about Taker, and my brother and I both have Eddie t-shirts.

The Rock

Hulk Hogan

Triple H

Stone Cold

Thats my Mums limit :lol I was watching Smackdown last night and when the clip for the Survivor Series tour came on, the one for RAW, she looked blank and went "I've never heard of any of them" she did ask why The Rock was there though when she saw MVP :lol

Ok text my mum and got a reply with "Big Daddy, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Hulk Hogan. That's all i think!". Bless her. Have text my dad too but no reply as of yet.

EDIT: :lol :lol :lol She just sent me another one saying "ooo ooo one more, Draven Cage". Bless her :lol

Who? :D

Oh buuuuurn. Mind you, Mr Saz, she never even mentioned YOU. :P

Asked my grandparents and got:

Nan:

1. Hulk Hogan

2. Ultimate Warrior

3. Snake Robbins :lol

4. Undertaker

5. Those two Hart brothers, one of them fell and hurt his back didnt he?

Indeed!

Grandad:

1. Hulky

2. Million Dollar Man Steve Austin

3. The Chicken guy (Red Rooster? Gobbeldygooker? I have no idea who he means)

4. Jake the Snake

5. Rodney the Piper

His Roddy Piper name reminds me of something Santino called Piper, great stuff. Although, I thought they might have shown more interest in my 25 odd year interest...thanks, Nan and Grandad!

Funny thing, neither of them mentioned Randy Savage.

My dad can name a lot, so I won't even go into the amount he can name, probably the same for my mum.

As for my Granny:

Tatanka (she loves westerns)

Hulk Hogan

The Rock

The Undertaker

Paul Bearer (well, mainly "that fat one with The Undertaker")

And, I'll even add my uncles, who haven't watched wrestling since my brother was like 3:

Rick Rude

Roddy Piper

The Bushwackers

Hulk Hogan

Bret Hart

The Macho Man (not Randy Savage, just his nickname)

The Undertaker

Jim Duggan didnt take up the Hacksaw name until he joined the WWF in 1987 I dont believe. I think Butch Reed used the name Hacksaw at some point in the 80's too.

Duggan used the Hacksaw name in Mid South as, indeed, did Butch Reed.

Mine can name Hulk Hogan, Sting, Ric Flair, Steve Austin and, from these days, Kevin Nash and Batista simply because my 4 year old brother has watched TNA and WWE and mentioned the big grey man called Kevin Nash and Big Dave (and he calls him 'Big Dave' too) to her before.

Considering I only watch wrestling with my Grandad, he can name quite a few.

My gran knows a lot too, she's always back and forth when we're watching, although always ends up calling Batista, "Pizza".

My dad knows a lot, but frequently calls Jesse (of Jesse & Festus) Owen Hart.

Mum knows people from World of Sport, she used to watch it with my grandad on Saturday Afternoons.

Who? :D
That guy who is up there with Hulk Hogan as far as name recognition goes in that household. :lol

As for my Granny:

Tatanka (she loves westerns)

Pfft... she loves westerns yet she hasn't named single cowboy.

Where were The Smoking Gunns, Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw, The Blackjacks, Sam Heuston, Stan Hansen, "Cowboy" Bret Hart or "Cowboy" Ted DiBiase? ;)

Hulk Hogan, Warrior, Ric Flair, Bret Hart. Though amusingly, she always called Shawn Michaels, "that annoying cowboy guy". I'll give my mum kudos, she would always make the effort to watch it with me.

I was watching Smackdown years ago and my mam came into the room, upon seeing one of the wrestlers on screen she asked "Who's that fella?" to which i replied "Rikishi Phatu" her reply was "what happened to part one of him?"

Priceless.

lol, she's on the native's side :xyx

She knows me intimately, by my first name:D

My mom wouldn't have been able to name any. Know that for a fact whenever me and my dad would discuss wrestling she would say who who over and over again. Even though we had told her who they were she wasn't interested.

My dad knows a lot of them as he used to take me to the old Maple Lead Gardens to watch it live.

He still catches Smackdown and Raw once in a while.
