Not sure if this has been discussed anywhere else on the forum, but here is your 2008 version of the Mass Transit Incident.

The Mike Levy Incident.

During the 3rd annual IWA-Mid South Queen of the Deathmatch Tournament that took place on June 21, 2008 in the parking lot of Alley Cats Lanes bowling alley in Sellersburg, Indiana. Mickie Knuckles took on "The White Lion" Mike Levy.

Mike Levy was an untrained wrestler who through the internet made it known that he wanted to be in the deathmatch tourney, the false hype by a few wrestling message boards led Ian Rotten to fly out Levy and add him to the womens tourney as a joke.

Levy was set to take on former champion Mickie Knuckles, as she made her way to the ring, Ian met her on the entrance way and whispered something to her. It is unknown for sure but believed to be something pertaining to the match ahead.

The match started off with Mickie laying on the offence hard with stiff hits and the use of weapons. At one point Levy attempted to block a move and return some offence of his own. However his inexperience caused it to be very awkward leading Mickie to become angry.

Both Knuckles and Levy began to stiff each other with various hits throughout the match.

After Knuckles won the match both Devon Moore and Tank ran into the ring and cut a promo on how Levy needs to learn how to sell. The crowd began chanting for Levy’s finisher The Curb Stomp. So tank held levy’s head over a barbed wire ladder and Devon came off the top rope with a double stomp that drove Levy’s head hard into the ladder.

As if that wasn’t enough, Tank climbed to the second rope and let his much larger size come crashing down from the second rope, wrapping Levy’s head around the ladder in a sickening fashion.

After this Levy tried to escape as Devon, Ian Rotten, and others continued to beat him down. Devon and Rotten took turns insulting him, telling him that he needs to “learn how to sell”

Even Ian Rotten’s young son got into the fight by beating a grounded Levy with a Kendo Stick, and later kicking him. The child can even be seen asking “daddy” if its alright to hit him.

Lastly Ian Rotten got on the mic and explained how Mickie has a national tv deal, but because of his inexperience she now has a giant knot on her head (which may have been caused by her vicious headbutts from earlier in the match).

The extent of Levy’s injuries (if any) are currently unknown.

Typical garbage wrestling indie stuff....but New Jack would be proud although it doesn't come anywhere close to the glory of the Mass Transit incident.

Incidentally an FSM preview for next month got me thinking about the Omega contigent in WWE (Matt Hardy,Jeff Hardy,Gregory Helms,Shannon Moore and occasional jobber Marty Garner) and I was thinking it'd be pretty cool if the ECW brand became the new Omega with the world title based around the five.

That was very very hard to watch was that real or was it fake because if it was real they should get arrested or something because that guy got his ass handed to him.

I wouldnt call that wrestling in any shape or form. And as for the latter part of the video, thats just glorified common assault dressed up as 'wrestling'

Agreed with Maestro Gonad. Thats just common low life thugs beating somebody senseless. I hate seeing things like that, thats somebody's son taking a hammering there, maybe somebody's Dad. Its a disgrace.

It was a bunch of guys who think its cool to "teach people a lession" when they enter a wrestling ring when they are not trained, Mickie did her best to stiff him as much as possible in the match then the other like typical bullies came in after to deliver the message that "this is for real"

I am just suprised he didn't grab a weapon and smash Mickie Knuckles face in when she started stiffing him at the beginning I sure as hell would have!

Was she the one which ended basically breaking her leg as worse as Sid's? If so then personally they got what came to them because the "Talented one" which they was screaming at him has pretty much screwed her legs up.

I wonder if Levy's family could get all of them arrested for assault because that's great evidence.

Karma bit Mickie in the butt in the end, and that is why she is laid out with a broken leg at the moment.

That whole thing is a joke. Just a group of bullies picking on someone because they can. If he did screw up, that sure as hell ain't the way to deal with it.

That really was horrible, in no way shape our form can that possibly be classed as wrestling. They talked about no selling and not knowing how to work, when its plainly obviously that none of them know how to work and Mickie was barely selling a damn thing.

It's this sort of thing that gives wrestling such a bad public image.

Looked like a work to me. A crap one with bad (if any) wrestling and very little point to it (unless the point was to have the whole internet talking about it & the promotion) but a work none the less

News on the Mike Levy/IWA Mid-South incident from yesterday

Written by Adam Lash

Sunday, 22 June 2008

There was an incident yesterday at IWA Mid-South's "Queen of the Death Match" tournament involving Mickie Knuckles and a North Carolina based wrestler named Mike Levy.

In mid June there was a thread on the CZWFans message board promoting IWA Deep South's upcoming death match tournament in October. One of the wrestlers announced for the show was "The White Lion" Mike Levy. Once a picture of Levy, as well as a couple matches, were posted on the board, many fans were sarcastically praising Levy as an amazing wrestler.

Levy is a North Carolina based wrestler who has very little actual training and works primarily for very small independent groups doing a hardcore style. In the matches posted on the internet he appears to have little regard for his own safety, let alone the safety of his opponents. Mike Burns suggested they use Levy as a funny little nod to the mock popularity he had received of late, which was a poor show of judgment on his part.

Fast forward to yesterday afternoon's show. Mike Levy was booked as a replacement in a woman's tournament with the angle being he wanted to prove himself in death matches and wanted in the death match tournament, with Ian Rotten agreeing to his request but saying he'd have to do it in the woman's tournament. He faced Mickie Knuckles (Total Nonstop Action's Moose) in a fans bring the weapons match.

During the match Knuckles and Levy began to exchange shots that increasingly became stiffer. Levy eventually gave Knuckles a head butt between the eyes that gave her what was described to me as a bruise/bump the size of a golfball and the situation quickly deteriorated from there. Eventually the match ended with Knuckles winning, however that was not the end of the incident. After the match several members of the IWA Mid-South roster entered the ring and began assaulting Levy in what was described to me as a "gang style beating" that included weapons that were in the ring for the match. Even Ian Rotten's pre-teen son got involved in the melee. The beating was described to me by someone as "the worst beating they've ever seen" which covers a lot of ground considering some of the things they've seen.

There was some speculation among fans on the internet that this was in fact an angle, however that is not the case. Initially the reaction on CZWFans was excitement, however as the details of the brutality began to surface, thanks in part to posts made by IWA Mid-South commentator Ben Jordan, the response turned extremely negative.

Behind the scenes there were those who felt that he deserved what he got and they thought it was "great", while others used words such as "embarrassing" to describe the assault. For what it's worth Levy went to the locker room and was apparently marking out over it all, not realizing what exactly had gone on or simply didn't care. In my opinion that doesn't excuse what happened, though there are those who seem to be using that to do so.

The bottom line is that Mike Levy should never have appeared on the show, and no one should have been surprised when he ended up being unsafe. Someone who is barely trained, and thus does not know any better, certainly does not deserve to be beaten in such a manner, and any incident that did occur should not have taken place in front of the crowd. Regrettably this situation has overshadowed the rest of the weekend's festivities, which are annually among the IWA's biggest shows of the year.

It appears that the incident is going to be turned into an angle, as Levy has been told they'll be bringing him back. Whether or not that happens is uncertain. Levy attended the evening's event as a fan, and is reportedly excited about the possibility of coming back.
