Highly disagree, last years PES was the worse PES ever (this is coming from someone who has played every pro released in the UK since it first came out in 2001). I shale wait till a demo before I say "I am getting a copy", "I am not getting a copy"

I used to play the game back before it was Pro Evo, back on the PS1, and I've always rated them over FIFA. But last year's FIFA owned Pro Evo 08 in every which way.

 

I havent seen much of the new PES, but having played the demo of FIFA 09, it's smooth as a baby's bum, Pro Evo need to up their game to be the number one footie game again.

I had ISS2 on the cube, it was great. Love playing Shawn's Pro Evo 2008, much better than the FIFA games, although the FIFA games seem easier for him to play.

From looking at game play videos and photos it looks the same as last years.

 

Also this years Fifa Demo was the mutts nuts, I think out of the football games this year EA is getting my vote.

As a sucker for everything Champions League i actully rather fancy this although it does need to improve on last years effort as Fifa came along and spanked it's backside bad style.

I didn't mind last years PES. PES 5 will always be the worst, it was practically like playing ping pong, stupid ball bouncing everywhere.

 

But anyway, last years Fifa was better than PES for the first time in forever, and that looks to say the same this year, as Fifa 09 looks amazing.

FIFA looks better again this year and from playing it (demo), it's damn good again.

 

Pro Evo missed a trick when it started changing things when it bloody good already.

PES will be back. i liked PES 2008 although it wasn'y he best, but it was the first on the new consoles so there is room to grow. i haven't liked FIFA since 97

very true, i haven't bought one since 05, they could have improved but i am a pes man, its always been a truer form of the game IMHO

Last years PES was a disgrace,mainly due to the God awfull lag on Xbox live.Im not sure yet but I probably won't buy it.

I'd totally reccomend giving Fifa a go again.

 

I've always prefered PES, but Fifa 08 is just a better version of PES 6. Only reason i got it was because PES 2008 refuses to drop it price for the PS3, and you can't play 2nd hand ones online, so I ended up with Fifa 08 and it's great, easily more realistic in terms of movements and tactics than previous Fifa's.

The only way they would get me to buy another PES is they offered me personal training with Liverpool or England.

Weirdly enough, on the Wii PES 2008 was leaps and bounds better than Fifa 08. I guess they were both putting their time and effort into different consoles

Rubbish,PES 2 was the best of the bunch by far,at least you could score a free kick on PES 2 unlike other versions.

PES 5 was pretty good with freekicks as was 3, never liked 2 as it seemed more like 1.5, 3 however was a step up with the game play and feel as was 5 as was 2008.

i brought it out of habit, its playable. but they could have done better i am expecting more this year, although the 2 league master league was better
