Featured Replies

Nightmare on Elm Street

Scream

Blair Witch

Childs Play

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Exorcist

1979 Amityville Horror

The Hills Have Eyes 1977

The Omen

The Shining

Those are some mainstream ideas! I'm sure some of hte horror buffs around here can point you towards some obscure ones!

Wingman add the following:

Poltergeist

Salem's Lot (if you can find it) it's a vampire movie but scary as hell.

Ghost Story

The Frighteners

That's all I can think off right now. :xyx

I'm going to ask for some sort-of related help.... work is having an all-night horror fest and I'm wondering if it's worth my time going.

I don't know a few of the films so if I list 'em could some of the nice folk with vast horror knowledge maybe give a thumbs up/down.

Cheers.

Midnight Meat Train

Tremors

The Hitcher (1986)

(they're also showing Saw V and Shaun of the Dead but I know what to expect from them - just incase you were thinking 3 movies would barely span 'all night').

As far as scary movies to watch go... hmm... see, I'm more one for 'so bad it's good' horror and so for that recommend Vampires VS Zombies (don't let the title fool you, it can get worse) and Cradle of Fear....

You always need at least one old fashioned, badly aged horror film to fill out the evening.

Here's some ideas:

any of the three Final Destination films

Alien

The Thing

The Birds

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The Last Horror movie

Dog Soldiers

Wilderness

Untraceable (Very much like Saw)

The Grudge

Ringu/ The Ring

You could say I might have covered most things with out Cabin Fever, Hostle, any of the Romero films ect

I'm having a horror movie marathon on Halloween too, except mine is 24-hours long.

My main reccomendation:

The Evil Dead

It's not a zombie film, so you don't have to worry about hating it.

For more films (bear in mind, alot of these are low-budget, my main interest in the horror genre):

Eraserhead

Ichi The Killer (not so much a horror film, but it's slightly gory)

Halloween

Night Of The Living Dead (1968 version, watch this in black and white and your Zombie hate will go away)

Nosferatu (the greatest vampire film and one of the best horrors ever made, imo)

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

The Last House On The Left (lol, sorry I had to...)

I Spit On Your Grave (see above :lol)

Cannibal Holocaust

A Nightmare On Elm Street

Psycho

Oh, and don't forget The Toxic Avenger in the "so bad, it's good" section. Get the directors cut, mind.

Evil Dead

Hellraiser

Any of the following will be worth viewing...

Nightbreed

The Prophecy

The Prophecy 3

In the Mouth of Madness

The Descent

The Thing

The Fog (1980)

The Mist (2007) - For the ending alone, this is a must-see

Hardware

The Dark Half

Ginger Snaps

Jason X

Brainscan

Wishmaster

The Craft

The Covenant

P2

Switchblade Romance

They

Fallen

Pet Cemetery

Tales From The Darkside

Children Of The Corn

Leprechaun

Warlock

Warlock: The Armageddon

Wishmaster 2

Frankenstein Reborn (If you want this let me know today and can send a copy to you tomorrow)

I'd recommend any of them to you Laf for this horror-a-thon

The Mist (2007) - For the ending alone, this is a must-see

I loved that, one of my favourite endings in a long time.

I just wiki'd the Mist - bloody hell that's a twist and a half!

Also JobberJoe massive thumbs up for Tremors, though it's not really the big scare horror film that you may want on Halloween. Still would definitely watch it, in fact I may just do that on Friday!

Tremors is a film that can be enjoyed any day of the year be it Halloween or Christmas Day :D
Temors is awesome, I love that film. Getting it on DVD for chrimbo hopefully. My video went snap yesterday :( I will ask the other two and love film some of the dvd if we do it tonight they will be here for friday.
Ichi The Killer (not so much a horror film, but it's slightly gory)

Slightly??

I'd recommend the original Ringu. Scariest movie I've ever watched.

Also the Final Destination movies might be worth getting. Though I've only seen the third one I really enjoyed it though It's supposed to be the weakest of the 3.

That film scares the crap out of me. Its so creepy, the newone is bad but the original freaks me out so much.

Ichi The Killer (not so much a horror film, but it's slightly gory)

Audition by the same directer as Ichi is great as well.In fact most Miike movies are totally weird, in a good way.

Slightly??

I'd recommend the original Ringu. Scariest movie I've ever watched.

That scared the crap outta me! Such a good film though!

The Omen

The Omen 4

Friday 13th Jason Takes Manhatton

Slightly??

I honestly didn't find it as gory as everyone told me. I thought it was pretty tame, lol.
