The Virtual Console: What have you got and what should be released

Posted

The virtual console is a fantastic invention of the next generation of gaming and has allowed us to play all kinds of games that'd we'd usually only be able to play on import or via emulator on PC.

Thus far i've got:

Punch-Out - NES

Turtles - NES

Mega Man 2 - NES

Kirby - NES

Super Mario World - SNES

Zelda - SNES

Super Mario RPG - SNES

Secret of Mana - SNES

Gunstar Heroes - Mega Drive

Streets of Rage 3 - Mega Drive

Toejam and Earl - Mega Drive

Neutopia - Turbografx

Sin and Punishment - N64

Mario 64 - N64

Mario Kart 64 - N64

I've pretty much got every game I want that's currently out. I'd love to see Earthbound released, as well as Smash Brothers on the N64, and Chrono Trigger (which has already been released in the US).

So what have you got or what would you like to see?

Paper Mario N64 (somehow missed that the first time around).

Lostwinds (Fantastic original little game from David Braben)

Secret of Mana (playing 3 player with the family , great fun)

I believe Chrono trigger is coming to DS in February so unlikely to VC it and affect sales of the Cartridge.

There isn't to much I want to see on the VC with the silly small memory its just a probelm to remove and replace games , I prefer the XBOXLA way of doing things with updated versions of games and lots of original content and a massive hard drive to store them on.

Don't have a Wii, but I've found some cool little games on XBox Live Arcade recently. Braid, which is like Mario with time travel, N+, the original Duke Nukem. I think someone should port Defcon over to it.

I love Defcon and Darwinia for that matter would they work well on a joypad , I am not so sure then again I played COD4 with a joypad and got used to that.

It's not really that big a deal, can't you just store them on your pc and transfer them across if you wanna play them? It's not like you need to play through 20 games simulataneously.

Well no its not like I would play 20 games at the same time of course and there are many ways of storing the games , but thats my point why should I have the agro , Its no problem at all on the Xbox. Say I fancy 1 quick game of Pacman CE its so easy on my Xbox , but I would have to muck about if I wanted 1 quick game of Mario 64, so would I bother....

I dunno, i've never really thought of it as being that much of an effort. Just stick in a USB stick, copy, paste, play. Far less effort than playing an actual wii game, *** at least this way you have the choice of 10-20 games without even getting up.

It's just like watching something you've downloaded via you're ps3 (or 360)

They need to release unirally from the SNES. I've still got my old copy, but it's a hassle dragging all the stuff out of the back bedroom every time I want to play.

they should try to get N64's GoldenEye that was great!!!!

Also some N64 Wrestling Games like No Mercy and WcW Revenge would be sweet too.

I'd imagine they'd have licensing trouble for all those games
