Yeah... that's exactly how WCW thought....about pretty much the same guys.... how long did that last again, I forget. Oh yeah, less than 4 years, once they started that crap. And they went from 55 million profit to flat broke in the same span. And from packing arenas with sold tickets, to not being able to give them away. And from record PPV buys to just about none, at the same time.

This isn't people bashing TNA, it's TNA committing suicide. The least we can do is point out how stupid and pointless that is...

Thank you for illustrating everything that is wrong with TNA.

Oh and if you're gunning for top TNA fan on the forum, don't bother, Jayfunk already holds that position and does a good job with it :lol

i think in theory the MEM was and still could be a good idea, however AJ styles or Matt Morgan need to win that world title soon, hopefully at BFG
That PPV should be renamed BFD.

In that case, unless you're currently terminally ill, I think it's safe to say you won't be watching TNA until you die.

Steiner, Nash and Angle can't be far off retirement now, with Booker T following closely behind. Keeping them at the top of the company does TNA no favours in the long run, as enjoyable as it may be for you at present time.

I'm not sure how devaluing the world title is going to help things to be honest. Morgan has been built up pretty well, but he's too useless to be world champion, and I don't believe for a second that he's remotely a draw. AJ needs some kind of mega push first, not jobbing to Nash and Morgan.

See, I always figured that all the veterans had been brought together in a stable to give the younger TNA talent the rub and elevate them to legit full time main eventers. But instead they've had the younger guys systematically jobbed.

All I can think is maybe TNA are playing the looooong term game. Although the veterans are already over TNA could be pushing them to the moon so that once the younger guys finally beat them they really are looking amazing, basicly doing an entire upper card underdog angle. Its all I can see that they could be planning. Otherwise why????

You're looking for well thought out booking logic when they're is none.

The Main event mafia are going over everyone simply because they are the draws so they have the power, they dont wanna lose.

Thing is, you don't need to just put people over the MEM to push them, just put them over the rest of the roster, and don't put them in a match with the MEM. (Hernadez is a good example of this, Matt Morgan WAS a good example)

MEM have basically done what NWO did in WCW and gotten too big and too comfy in their position on top.

It was always going to happen too simply because the same people in the group were in NWO (Nash, Steiner, Booker) and once they get the spotlight they don't want to let it go despite being broken down old men, because they know if the younger guys get over and take their spot they will never get it back so they never allow the younger guys to get there.

MEM seems a bit of a joke since Tracy Brooks joined. I mean its supposed to be the group of world champions, she's an absolute talentless nobody who's done nothing. It's soooo turning into the nWo, Shark boy will be apart of it soon.

I understand why TNA hired the likes of Kurt Angle,Steiner,Booker,Nash and Sting because they are names familiar to anyone who watched the Monday Night Wars or WWE thus they are sure to have and still do attact fans.

The problem is that aside from Kurt Angle the rest of the Mafia (and Sting) are slower then they used to be,less able in the ring then they used to be and generally are only employed based on past accomplishments and the fact that they used to be very over...if someone was going to watch wrestling for the first time would they watch a show where a group of wrestlers in their late 40s are dominating guys half their age?

To me it is difficult to suspend the disbelief that the likes of Nash and Steiner especially are still a believable threat to their opponents and seeing how tentatively Nash seems to move worries me that he will do himself an injury that will effectively end his in-ring career (he has been far more worthwhile in TNA as a non-wrestling personality in my opinion).

I didn't know russo checked these sites out :lol

That was class!

I think the MEM is exactly no different than the weak group Legacy for the WWE.

The big bad group that runs amock and raises hell wherever they go. Difference? They got all the belts and the Legacy simply protects Randy Orton from losing his.

Overall I think its all good what TNA is doing with them. The 4 Horsemen were the best of them all. Because only 4 men worked together to make it happen. The NWO was totally rediculous. I mean at one point in time there were at least 12-15 members of the NWO. Not to mention the NWO Wolfpack, and then the latino NWO. I mean that got old very fast. Right now TNA needs the MEM. They really do.:)

Dude, read some post about Legacy. Few around here actually think Legacy is being handled competently. You're comparing shite to more shite.

Suppressing all possible new talents and simply rehashing the worst qualities of the Millionaires Club and the nWo. Genius really, when you think about it.

I don't know where this came from, but yes the Four Horsemen were great. Because it was something innovative at the time, and it had the top talent of the day not washed up has-beens suppressing everyone.

Yeah nothing like the respectable 11 members of the MEM at one point.

Or the World Elite.

Right now TNA needs the MEM. They really do.:)

Yeah, who wants TNA to be successful anyway?

Dude...

At least The MEM has all the belts. So in order to be somebody in TNA you have to beat somebody in the MEM. Thats all good. You say comparing shite to shite? Well, unfortunately behind the scenes of pro wrestling has ran out of fresh ideas for a long time now. I'll give ya that.

But I would rather watch those so called "Has-beens" wrestle a good match than watch the same predictable style of wrestling that the WWE does week in and week out.:roll

I think you may need to stop and take a deep breath.

You're talking about wanting to watch the likes of Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner in 2009. Just sit back and think about that a moment.....

uh-huh

They can still walk, they can still talk, and they can still wrestle. But I almost forgot, you youngsters think put guys like them out of their misery for the young talent can basically bore us half to death. :lol

They can still walk? Since when?
