Posted September 21, 200915 yr have you ever wanted to be a wrestler or went to a training lesson? i wanted to be a wrestler when i first started but the whole pain thing isnt my best point
September 21, 200915 yr If you cant cope with pain then you just dont bother really. I know a fair few guys here have either been or currently are wrestlers or at least have attended lessons. Wrestled: me DC Gringo Maxx (I think) Wrestle: Saz loads of UK scene forums guys MattyStark TheDoctor Had lesson(s): Mitch (had 1 I think) Fletch Alstevens
September 21, 200915 yr Technically 2; one with Jonny Storm and one on a whim after a show. Needless to say, it wasn't for me. The chain wrestling was easy to pick up, but I couldn't hack the bumps and nearly killed myself on a high back bodydrop when I ran too fast and corkscrewed right onto my face. I think my talents are best used elsewhere.
September 21, 200915 yr Yea it's not the best thing to try if you can't deal with pain. Good fun though if you can. People should deffo try it though, you don't know your limits til you give it a go. I'd just reccomend to anyone who does wanna pick it up, to ask around for a reccomended training school, because nothing gonna put you off more than someone being extra tough on you (which alot places will if you don't remotely look like you could pass for a wrestler or aren't respectful) Edited September 21, 200915 yr by Chriscare
September 21, 200915 yr well not the pain its mostly the thought of ending up in a wheelchair but y experience of wrestling pretty much peeks at chokeslaming my mate onto a bed (dont try this)
September 21, 200915 yr Ha, no worries, been on the injury list so long now I'm starting to forget it myself.

September 21, 200915 yr I'd of liked to give it a try but I'm in a wheelchair to begin with so it wouldn't really work.
September 21, 200915 yr what are the lessons like 24 minutes of sit ups 23 minutes of shouting at you 2 minutes of teaching and 12 minutes of making tea :)
September 21, 200915 yr On the other hand there some people I'd love to flip piledrive through a table. Ao maybe wrestling is the way to go on the other hand iIcould see the advantage in learning some legit holds but lets face it turning blue and passing out onto the floor could be great if you dont like your gf/bfs parents, in fact its a great idea one hold later and your on the floor crawling the hell out of there. Or it could be a convestion starter....
September 21, 200915 yr I have wrestled a Hulk Hogan bear and have the pictures on TWO to prove it :lol I thought about actually training when I was little but never went through with it and even today mess around with my brother wrestling, getting slammed on a concrete floor then having a 19 stone man big splash you is not fun I have found through that

September 21, 200915 yr I would have loved it and probably still would just nothing around my area for it sadly.
September 21, 200915 yr I'd love to do it. DC started to half train me before I fell pregnant with Josh. Don't really have the physique for it though (as in no waist, excessively large boobs...lol).

September 21, 200915 yr The town I live in, Swindon, believe it or not, has it's own wrestling school that doubles up as it's own federation and puts on shows! I don't think it's of national reknown or anything but it's quite well known here. Cheers!
September 21, 200915 yr If you dont mind me asking but what happened? I snapped my Fibula (around my ankle) back in January, sadly not doing anything too exciting, it was just a freak accident. what are the lessons like 24 minutes of sit ups 23 minutes of shouting at you 2 minutes of teaching and 12 minutes of making tea If you've got good trainers it'll consist about 30 mins to an hour intense warm up/core strength development. Then the remaining couple of hours learning the basics/moves/strikes/psychology/selling/spots etc. varies week to week and from trainer to trainer, some will even go as far as to help you learn about what your diet should be and how you should train in the gym.
September 21, 200915 yr Id say I have the braing for it and I have a fairly high pain tolerance level, well maybe stupidly high as I won't give up until my arm is near broke. I have has a couple of submission matches before with a guy from double who does the MMA training. I thought it would be interesting to go up against someone with training and I did, he one both times by a chokehold but I gave him a fair fight both times.
have you ever wanted to be a wrestler or went to a training lesson?
i wanted to be a wrestler when i first started but the whole pain thing isnt my best point
