September 29, 200915 yr JERISHOW! Best tag team of all time! Of all time! http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/4627/jerishowbyprincessblack.jpg Edited September 29, 200915 yr by Maxximus
September 29, 200915 yr There is absolutley nothing funny about that Hornswoggle sketch, they even threw in a 1970's blacksploitation joke which is clearly relevant to all the Hornswoggle 3 year old fans. Rosa Mendez has no business wrestling, yet she's on primetime tv every week. WWE is in the shitter.
September 29, 200915 yr Professional wrestling is in the shitter. Fixed. I lasted half an hour this week.
September 29, 200915 yr I can't be arsed anymore. Seems like nobody else can either. There used to be a good handful of comments for the live Raw. Sign of the times.
September 29, 200915 yr yeah, I was kinda surprised to see that I had the first show post. RAW is worse then ever.
September 29, 200915 yr Author Honestly, if it was not part of my "job" to report on RAW, then I would not bother watching the show. I would just look at the pictures on WWE.com or something. The only highlight of RAW for me was the Cena and Orton battle on top of the Cell. It's the first time that they have had anyone fight on the roof of the Hell in a Cell since they introduced the new version of the Cell. It was pretty cool, I thought, as it has been a while since the actual Hell in a Cell was used during the build-up to the actual match. The way RAW has been, I figured they would just use at is a point of reference for the pay-per-view, but I am glad it was used. Now, with the exception of the above mentioned and parts of the opening match for the Unified Tag Team Titles, the show sucked out loud (again). I have tried and tried, but I can still not wrap my head around what Vince is thinking when he watches the crap he puts on TV (and let's not kid ourselves, Vince is the only thing that matters within the WWE). I will be reiterating the obvious, but my big problem (among many) was the booking of the Gauntlet Match and the events surrounding it. Just to recap a bit, Cena started off the Gauntlet by facing Chris Jericho and Jericho gets disqualified for not breaking the Walls of Jericho when Cena gets in the ropes. After the DQ, Jericho keeps it locked in for about another three minutes or so (which is supposed to be "agonizing") while Big Show comes in. Then the second match in the Gauntlet begins and they have Big Show work over Cena's back and all that and then Cena lifts Show up for the Attitude Adjustment, then Jericho interferes and shoves Cena forward, which, we're supposed to believe, forces all of Show's weight to land on the head and neck of Cena. Okay, now both Show & Jericho are assaulting Cena in between match #2 and #3. Show then locks in the Colossal Clutch and holds it in place for a minute or so as Orton slowly makes his way to the ring. Now here comes the part I have a problem with- by the time Orton is in the ring face-to-face with Cena, Cena is back on his feet. The Cell lowers and the two matches, the Walls of Jericho, Show landing on Cena's head, and the Colossal Clutch all mean nothing because Cena is back to fighting with Orton and daring Orton to come into the ring. Even with all the supposed "injuries" he suffered against Show & Jericho, Cena can rush out of the ring to keep a fresh Randy Orton from escaping through the Cell door. Also, despite the "injuries", Cena can magically climb the Cell after Orton. Okay, did I somehow mysteriously jump ahead in time or something (Futurama style)? Now, I don't have a big problem with the repeating angle of Cena getting assaulted six days before the pay-per-view and still making it to the event (I still have a problem with it, but not a big one), but when he is miraculously healed from, what was supposed to be a "grueling" Gauntlet Match, in mere moments after he sustained the injuries, that's just straight up bullshit. What should have been done, in my opinion, is they should have had Show & Jericho do the same things they did, but when Orton came out, they should have had Orton punt Cena in the skull to end the show. They could have even put it on top of the Cell if they wanted to. Then have Cena stumble into the pay-per-view this Sunday to do the same "overcoming the odds" gimmick. Sure, it's been done before, but at least it has a little bit more logic than what they did do. I'm surprised they are not booking Rosa Mendes to go over Mickie James. Granted, Mickie will probably get blamed for that match as well. To me, Rosa's perfect role in the WWE is as a valet. I thought she did pretty good for the short time that she was Carlito's valet. Regardless of how WWE puts it, I still consider the females in the WWE to be in two categories- Divas & Female Wrestlers. A Diva, to me, is someone like Rosa Mendes, Maria, or Alicia Fox, who can't wrestle and should just make appearances and do photo shoots and stay out of the wrestling part of it. Then there are Female Wrestlers like Mickie James, Gail Kim, & Melina, who can actually do both; wrestle and look good (not so much Melina, but that's not the point). Given the option, I would rather take Chavo & Hornswoggle being on the same side than being on opposing sides. At least Chavo is not jobbing to Hornswoggle in that role and it's a push (possibly a microscopic push, but a push nonetheless). I also do not have a problem with someone like Chris Masters getting jobbed out, since he has no real talent anyways (not that Hornswoggle does). There is just so much wrong with the WWE these days and it's just too much to try and explain everything because there is so much. SmackDown is tolerable and ECW is bad, but it's not expected to be really good. However, RAW is supposed to be the top show in the WWE. My theory (one of many) is that, as long as the kids in the audience and at home are happy, then that's all that matters to Vince. The day that Vince croaks will be the day that the WWE will begin it's climb to being acceptable again.
September 29, 200915 yr I havnt watched WWE for the last 6 months as I could see it was going down the drain. I decided to give last nights episode a go and I found my self struggling to remember what exactly i used to tune in for every week. I so cant be bothered with it anymore, its gone so PG that I wouldnt be surprised if its on Nick Jr. soon.
September 29, 200915 yr Same old same old this week. The Rosa match was well, atrocious really, made even better by Michael Cole's commentary proclaiming it to be brilliant. I feel sorry for the guy cause no doubt Vince is screaming at him down the line to make him say that. At least I hope so. The DX/Legacy segment was one of those really frustrating ones which just undermine. Why do DX have to make fun of them? It just completely negates any decent build, because then we are told "well DX don't think they're a threat, they think they are geeks" when the last 3 weeks have been telling us the complete opposite. I find similar confusion with Orton/Cena. Orton's real menacing and delivers promos on Cena saying he's going to take his title back. Yet when a cage is lowered he craps his pants? I don't get it? What's the angle here? Cena's going to batter a coward in a match in which the coward actually has experience in? Except he's only a coward at select times, the other half he's a menacing heel who wants to hurt Cena...until he gets near him? My head hurts. The comedy was of it's usual nobody except Chriscare cares standard. Al Sharpton was virtually pointless as he did sod all really except get booed by the audience. The US Title stealing angle still remains a completely stupid idea. I just find with the PPV coming with exception the matches actually being in a HIAC what are you paying to see? Sure Punk get his commupance against Taker. But then DX just treated Legacy as a joke, so not great build (even though before that has been really good) and why would we pay to see Orton/Cena? Orton's scared of him, Cena has had the better of him every week, so where's the guessing game? Unfortunately another bad Raw.
September 29, 200915 yr awful AWFUL show, nothing on it was good, they treated Legacy like a joke, and Orton was made to look the same, Cena's selling was a joke (he just magically recovered from back pain), Shrapton was nothing, and the whole show just seemed awfully written.
September 29, 200915 yr Raw at all this week, DX was more sad then usual in the segment they had, normally the live crowd atleast like it but they seemed really bored by the 'jokes' about The Hulk. Sharpton was terrible through and through I thought too. As said Rosa Mendez has no business being in the ring, if they must employ her she should be eye candy and nothing more as she seems dangerous in the ring when she wrestles. Really poor shw to say it was the last one before a PPV, its weeks like this that they should go with a ex-wrestler as host so they can just promote their PPV rarther then some random celebs latest venture.
RAW may be in the shitter but WWE isn't. Smackdown and ECW are well worth watching these days.
September 29, 200915 yr Another episode of 'Super Cena' frustrates me because it doesn't seem that any of Cena's 'heroics' actually make a difference to his popularity and only serve to give his legion of child/female fans something to cheer for. I thought Legacy's promo was pretty good and the video they had played was very good too but the segment was ruined by DX appearing and trying to be funny and then making Legacy look weak by simply walking to the ring, surely if DX had been beaten down so badly the week before they wouldn't be 100% and the confident, younger Legacy would have the advantage in a brawl? Al Sharpton was perhaps more blatantly advertising something then any of the previous guest hosts (but at least Jeremy Piven admitted that the only reason he did RAW was to push his film) and generally seemed out of place on the show. Jack Swagger looked impressive in his match but why was Evan Bourne's lack of size even brought up? It's perfectly obvious that Evan isn't a big man but why bring attention to it? I thought The Miz's claims of making the biggest impact since being drafted to RAW just made him look stupid when you consider he has spent most of his run on the show jobbing to 'Super Cena'.
September 29, 200915 yr Jack Swagger looked impressive in his match but why was Evan Bourne's lack of size even brought up? It's perfectly obvious that Evan isn't a big man but why bring attention to it? I imagine so they can portray him as having to do more to survive in a big man's world. Which would make perfect sense if he didn't job most of the time.
September 29, 200915 yr Another bad show but like it's hardly surprising. Why buy the PPV now that we've Cena take such a beating and still end up kicking Orton's ass.
September 29, 200915 yr Well, there are still other matches on the card...I'd never watch a PPV simply for one thing, after all.
September 29, 200915 yr Well, in fairness to Cody and Ted they put over DX pretty well and DX just mocked and made jokes and it's probably Legacy that needs putting over leading to the show. So yeah, they've messed that up too. PPV will probably be good but the build is terrible. Like a feud over guys stealing a title belt, Swagger was in a US match last week and instead of winning the title in the match he decides to steal the belt from Miz and get counted out. That's some stupid booking.
