Following on from the Your "least" favourite matches of all time thread, I thought we should do the opposite.

Much like the first thread wasnt for the most terrible matches of all time but more overhyped/overrated matches, this thread isnt for your favourite matches of all time, or the best, or the most well renowned, but for matches you really love that it seems nobody else does. Whether thats because nobody else has heard of them, or because nobody else rates the match as great is up to you.

Once again, this is the land of the un-hyped - no Shawn/Taker WM or some sh*t.

Proceed.

This isnt close to being my answer, but I actually thought of this thread on the back of mentioning the Batista Buddies tag in the Survivor Poll thread. I hope someone else remembers it, it was the time on Smackdown '08 where someone (Vickie?) was stacking the deck against Batista and had him face a 4-man heel team (La Familia?) with a collection of misfit toys as partners - Nunzio, Colin Delaney and a third jobber who's identity escapes me. And Batista, great man that he is, shrugged his shoulders, embraced his new buddies and they set about the match. It was a really novel idea and made for a really, really cool main event.

For an example of something that is supposed to suck, I think from memory I really enjoyed that John Cena vs Big Show PPV match from 2009 - was it a Submission or I Quit match or something? I remember enjoying it and coming on here to find every single person calling it the worst match ever. Its still used as a punchline, but I'll have to revisit it at some point because I liked it quite a bit live.

I seem to be the only person who enjoyed the Punjabi Prison Match between Khali and Batista. I loved it.
I've always liked the Boot Camp match between HHH & Sgt Slaughter from the DX ppv in 1997. Not many people seem to like it much

Literally the only thing I remember about that match is Dave's AWESOME leap from cage to cage.

Wasn't it Funaki? I remember watching that and thinking it was pretty cool. I thought La Familia had potential to be a new McMahon/Helmsley regime style overbearing heel group, but they released Bam nealy fairly quickly and split up The Edgeheads.

Funaki! Thank you! It was bugging me.

6 man Hell in a Cell @ Armageddon 2001. Rikishi, Austin, Rock, Angle, HHH, and Taker. The build was great and the match was all types of fun! Attitude Era personified.

Randy Orton v Kane at Mania was pretty freaking good, imo.

All of Dolph Ziggler's matches from January 2011 onwards

I know this could be one in a billion matches, but there was a Kofi/Dolph match earlier in the year on Superstars which was INSANELY good. I wanna say it happened in February, but I have no memory for this kind of thing. Either way ti was awesome.

I'm looking at Jimmy to be able to reel off easily which match I'm thinking of.

Hakushi v The 1-2-3 Kid from Summerslam '95.

Off the top of my head it was on the 8th March Superstars. And yes it ruled.

Raven vs Rhyno Backlash 2001, Hardcore Title match.

match of the night

Team Canada vs AMW at Final Resolution 2005 is like the best tag match that nobody ever talks about.

I will check this one out. From memory I do think i enjoyed this match. Although I might have just enjoyed this PPV overall. Actually just looking at the card I enjoyed this and the Ultimate X match

Yeah the Ultimate X on that show ruled too.
Randy Orton. Vs Evan Bourne with the monster RKO from the air bourne. Great match an one of my favorite finishes ever
Petey Williams vs Chris Sabin from Turning point 04 one of the best x division matches ever but never mentioned
Bring back Petey!

HBK vs Shelton Benjamin Raw 2005. The one with this spot:

I've mentioned this a few times in similar threads but; Umaga vs Jeff at GAB. Amazing.

And another that I have archived from a normal RAW in 2000; Austin vs Benoit (not one of their regarded classics from the time FYI).

I tried to put it on Youtube but it succumbed to Copyright infringement, so I have uploaded to photobucket

here

Well worth a watch.
