From the AW Promotions twitter feed, apparently legit as confirmed by WWE. NoDQ have also since reported the story.

A W ‏@AWPromotions

AWPromotions is no more ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for your support and hate, it's been a great run. Now I get to do me which isn't PG!

@TitusONeilWWE & @DarrenYoungWWE thank you for allowing me to speak on your behalf. You guys are the best and I'm glad to call u my friends!

I've offended the wrong people that taught me how to have ATTITUDE It was the #WWE that made me bold and now it has turned it's back on me

Let this be a lesson to up and coming talent in the WWE don't try and be great like the Rock or Stone Cold. WWE isn't the same Just be normal shut up and be a yes man so you can collect your check and feel like your special. #SELLOUTS!

I remember a time when the WWE didn't care about breaking the mold but now everyone is so afraid of their own shadow. #RemeberTheFans

Thanks to the fans who showed me support over the whole Kobe thing and to those I upset I apologize again. Remember It's entertainment folks

I really do hope Linda wins that election because If not then all of this BS has been for nothing. #GoLinda!!

Edit: Seems legit, WWE issues a statement with the usual best in Future endeavors comment.

Let's PRAY they don't stop the tag team push because of this bullshit. It was only a matter of time since they let him get away with the Taco Bell thing. Not that I was offended obviously.

Not only is AW gone, but there's some mess going on with Rosa too? You know, if they totally dropped kayfabe for everything but the ring work(not sure how that would work either so don't ask) and made modern wrestling more like a real reality show, it would probably be huge right now.

After the Kobe Bryant comment, I figured that it was just a matter of time before A.W. was let go. I do wonder if the comment was the sole reason for the release or if WWE realized that A.W. was not really needed as a manager for Young & O'Neil.

See, I like AW now. I couldn't stand him before. Talk about a face turn.

I'm gonna be totally honest with you guys and feel free to comment as well. I'm losing faith in the wwe at a rapid pace. I'm talking light speed and just in the last few weeks. Pretty much since the 1000th show I guess. I just feel like I can see through everything. I can still play along and be a mark for matches, but I know I'm just playing pretend as well. It's everything else, the storylines, the angles, the talent outside the ring with the exception of Punk, who until he blasted The Rock, I was growing weary of. Now I'm feeling that way about Bryan. I don't love AJ. At all. Booker is such a caricature of himself it sickens me. Sheamus is a big phoney. I like Sandow, but I'm not gonna sit through however long it takes just to see him.

My immersion is gone. Totally 100% gone. I can't 'enjoy wrestling for what it is' because what it is, mostly, is shit and high expectations that almost always fail to deliver any real emotional impact anymore.

I've held up for as long as I could. I tried to be as optimistic as possible, and this is me being honest with myself as well as those of you that read this, but I can't do it anymore. I'm sure I'll take some crap for this and some will praise me, but if I have to look at John Cena's smiling face and holding a belt anytime soon, I may become physically violent or violently sick.

It's not just this AW thing, it's been building, this was just the straw and this marky camel can take no more.

I'll keep up with clips and news and ppv's if they're interesting. Beyond that, I'm taking a step back from 'modern pro wrestling' until something significantly interesting comes along.

There it is.

What was the Kobe comment by the way?
What was the Kobe comment by the way?

On RAW a couple of weeks ago, A.W. made the off-color comment that Titus O'Neil was "like Kobe Bryant in a Colorado hotel room, he's unstoppable." He stumbled on the comment a bit, but that is what he said without the stutters.

So he released because of that? Not that I particularly care at all about the Prime Time Playa's but seems very harsh to me.

He also said something about mother Teresa. But I don't think he should've been fired. Max is right though!! It's like if you ain't in the wwe circle your walking on thin ice... Hope tna keeps up the good work!!

It was an incredibly stupid comment to make by AW, but I certainly didn't want him to lose his livelihood.

I'm starting to hate WWE's double standards. Jericho who almost got himself arrested and causing a near riot in Brazil by desecrating a flag, and people like Orton and Rey who have made countless wellness violations get to keep their jobs, but AW gets fired. Very harsh!!

Anyone remember this?

I have that marky mark feeling again that this isn't gonna go away so easily. We have obvious double standards and potential racial discrimination. Vince vs Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton?

Wasn't Sharpton a guest host once?

OH LAWDY LAWDY what a mess.

I'm quite sad about this, after not liking AW for all that time, in the last few weeks he started to get really entertaining.

I'm sure a lot of people agree with Maxximus, I only really watch at the moment for a few people (Punk, Bryan, Dolph, etc) though I am super excited for the return of Wade! Weekly programming is such a drag now apart from a few segments.

(Edit: Wow I never understood that part when I saw the rap before!)

One was in 2003. The other was in 2012 with more political correctness, PG programming, Mattel deals and Linda running for the Senate.

No kidding which one was punished.

I doubt that if John Cena, for example, said it that he would be fired.
You're can be so damn difficult with your logic and wealth of knowledge sometimes, Redman. :lol

As harsh as it sounds.. Jericho, Rey & Orton could get away with cold blooded murder compared to guys like AW.

I (once again) blame Linda and her insistence on wanting to run for senate. They can't do anything other than the blandest of bland bullsh*t in case it affects Linda in a contest she is NEVER GOING TO WIN. I too am fed up of WWE's hypocritical bullsh*t, but I can't see it changing until either Linda gets a clue, or Vince passes control of the company on.

Neither of which are happening anytime soon.

I have a hideous feeling that Cena's first "The Champ is here" promo, is mere weeks away. So too will be me saying "ah f*ck it" Ryback was keeping me going, with the feeling that they still can elevate stars - but they've put him in a feud with JINDER MAHAL?

Trust me, it's only time before Sandow gets squashed too. As for AW, I could see him getting his marching papers after the Kobe comment.

What it seems like is those in charge simply won't give anyone the old three stirkes type deal. One infraction of rules that clearly aren't written down anywhere and boom, you're out on your ass. It kind of makes you wonder if WWE really gets that firing guys like AW over things like this turns off large sections of their fans to the product. It's like WWE get things like social media but don't quite get that probably half the watching audiene (that would be on TV or free on the net rather than those in attendance) spends as much time looking at the real life decisions of the company as much as just the on screen product.

TNA would do well to get this guy signed, or a deal arranged - and start hyping the sh*t out of the fact he was fired for not towing the "PG WWE family line" then when he appears - BOOM big ratings.

Especially if Bully Ray leaves as has been reported he might, they'd do well to have someone good on the mic as a heel manager to help keep the mic work up. You know what, if they got him in to be the leader of the whole Aces and Eight's thing that would be fun, could say he delibertaely tried to sabotage WWE on air. :D
