Well that's the twitter rumour today, what do ye think guys if it's true good or bad??

Not particularly pleased, EA have so, so, so many more important franchises in their portfolio that the WWE will be an afterthought at best at one of their lesser studios.

Yeah I mostly agree with that Chris altough it would be a very polished product if EA did WWE 14, I'd like to see what EA could do with a WWE game now.
Let's just skip EA entirely and give it to Square Enix (Or whoever the lot were who did KOC 2). I'm sure they could make a more faithful recreation of in-ring style than anyone else, at least. Also I'm scared of a potential Backstage Assault 2. D:
How do the money/sales figures compare between WWE and the big EA franchises?
With how THQ is going down, there's a big possibility that EA could just take THQ's license and continue to have the games produced by Yukes, keeping Ledesma and the like in-house at EA then to make the games a continuation, just under the EA umbrella. I think this is more likely than EA sourcing a new developer if they get the license.
Aren't THQ in the process of selling off all their IPs at the moment? If that's the case, then what Fletch said seems to be the most likely thing to happen.
THQ had some terrible wrestling games before smackdown too so i think EA can do a really good job if given time

Selling them off individually yep. Although already encountered trouble with South Park

If anything happens to Stick of Truth I'm gonna flip the f*ck out. Seriously, it's the one game I'm genuinely bothered about this year.

The era of THQ wrestling games is over. Sources have indicated to IGN that the WWE game franchise will be sold to Take Two, parent company of 2K. Terms of the sale are unknown at this time, as details have not been finalized. These negotiations appear to have taken place outside THQ's formal auction process.

This news comes as THQ assets have been divided among several different publishers, pending court approval.

For more on WWE games, and THQ's future, stay tuned to IGN - official announcements are expected as soon as tomorrow.
