Two and a Half Men is to finish after 12 seasons although police suspect the real number may be higher:

Two and a Half Men will end after its 12th series, producers have confirmed.

"[Producer] Chuck Lorre is creating a season-long event. Chuck is very psyched about this, he's got some great ideas and very big surprises," said CBS entertainment executive Nina Tassler.

She didn't know whether bringing Charlie Sheen's character back from the dead would be one of the shocks in store, she added.

The US television network confirmed the last episode will air in 2015.

Ha!

Never liked this show at all. Not a Charlie Sheen fan really and I can't stand Jon Cryer, plus that kid was fat and ugly.
I've never been able to get into this show. I've tried several times its just not my cuppa.
There is a lot worse TV, I liked the Sheen days, it went down hill afterwards.
Didn't the kid go all moral and beg people not to watch it?
Ive always hated Two and a half men, and found it just straight out not funny - but still, I think the least funny TV show around for me has got to be the big bang theory, absolute garbage

I always quite liked it to be honest. I don't think comedy has to be exceptionally smart, edgy, cool, subversive and modern to be critically acclaimed and adored by people who are dying to impress on people what comedy should be.

It's the comedy equivalent of Ronseal really. It's just sex jokes, sexist jokes, some poo jokes, some gay jokes, and hot women. And sometimes it's well funny.

Cheers!

Two And A Half Men isn't critically acclaimed.

I guess that comes down to what is considered critically acclaimed as it's been nominated for 30 Emmys (winning six) and 2 Golden Globes, which are the prestigious awards for a TV show.

The Big Bang Theory (which is a show I do enjoy) has also been nominated for a number of Emmys, as well as being nominated / winning Television Critics Association awards and Critics' Choice Awards.

I loved two and a half men with Sheen hated it afterwards, it just did not work. I would buy the Sheen box set but ignore the rest.

The problem there is, firstly, any T.V. show that does well, ratings-wise, will get nominated, and, secondly, the amount of nominations is misleadingly vague. The Emmys it's won are for sound and picture editing, cinematography and best guest star. It's only won two Emmy's for acting, both for Jon Cryer as supporting actor, none as a cast, none for the leading actors, and none as a show. And the Golden Globe nominations were for ten years ago, before that style really became outdated. It's telling that they lost out in the Golden Globes to The Office. It's noteworthy that it's never won a single major award as a show, only for technical reasons, like editing, or for specific supporting or guest actors.

Another thing that's worth noting is that, when the show has been nominated at the Emmy's, as a show, it's been beaten out by "new style" sitcoms every time; The Office once, and 30 Rock twice, and it hasn't been nominated since 2008.

In the last ten years, the only filmed-before-a-live-studio-audience-style sitcom to win the Emmy for best comedy has been Everybody Loves Raymond, in 2005. Other than that, it's been The Office, Modern Family, 30 Rock and Arrested Development. Of last years six nominees, only one was of that style, the unforgivably shit The Big Bang Theory, up against Modern Family, Louie, Girls, 30 Rock and Veep. The critic's have well and truly picked their side of the battle.

Am I the only person that's bothered that it's been axed? I loved Charlie Sheen in it, and Ashton holds his own. Maybe it's just my sense of humour?
