Marvel press release

"Marvel is excited to announce an all-new era for the God of Thunder in brand new series, THOR, written by Jason Aaron (Thor: God of Thunder, Original Sin) complimented with art from Russell Dauterman (Cyclops).

This October, Marvel Comics evolves once again in one of the most shocking and exciting changes ever to shake one of Marvel’s "big three" – Captain American, Iron Man and Thor – Marvel Comics will be introducing an all-new THOR, GOD OF THUNDER. No longer is the classic male hero able to hold the mighty hammer, Mjölnir, a brand new female hero will emerge will who will be worthy of the name THOR. Who is she? Where did she come from and what is her connection to Asgard and the Marvel Universe?

"The inscription on Thor’s hammer reads ‘Whosoever holds this hammer, if HE be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor.’ Well it’s time to update that inscription," says Marvel editor Wil Moss. "The new Thor continues Marvel’s proud tradition of strong female characters like Captain Marvel, Storm, Black Widow and more. And this new Thor isn’t a temporary female substitute – she’s now the one and only Thor, and she is worthy!"

Series writer Jason Aaron emphasizes, "This is not She-Thor. This is not Lady Thor. This is not Thorita. This is THOR. This is the THOR of the Marvel Universe. But it’s unlike any Thor we’ve ever seen before."

THOR is the latest in the ever-growing and long list of female-centric titles that continues to invite new readers into the Marvel Universe. This female THOR is the 8th title to feature a lead female protagonist and aims to speak directly to an audience that long was not the target for Super Hero comic books in America: women and girls."

Take that mainstream America, instead of bothering to establish a new character or a new audience outside of the comic book mainstream, we've stuck some straight, blonde, white dude's hate on a woman. And then we're going to make a massive deal out of it, so everyone knows we're so liberal that, when we've established the popularity of something by using traditional superhero tropes and a traditional comic book audience, and it's not selling, we're willing to stick a woman, or a black, or a queer, or a muslamic in there and masturbate over all the coverage we get! We're like some, like, William Wilberforce shit right now.

See you at the Black Widow premier (lol, not really, we don't actually give a f*ck).

I don't like the fact that Thor is a woman just for equal rights or whatever... if you feel women aren't being represented as well in comics make a separate new female character, not replace the male character we all love with a female that won't live up to his badassary

I thought Thor was god of thunder anyways, not Godess, jeeeeez

Thor is now a SHE

How long will that last and will she ever make it to the big screen after the first 2 films made a Billion Dollars worldwide.

It's weird, because "original" Thor will be sticking around in the comics, which to me means that at some point he's gonna be deemed worthy again and this is only a short term deal.

Yeah this is retarded. Any specific reason why or just doing it for the sake of doing it? Black Captain America too but at least they are giving a reason for that, storyline, different, already established guy just taking on the Cap gimmick.

This "Lets change established characters genders/race all in the name of equality" bullshit gets on my f*cking tits beyond belief. If you want equality, just create new heroes, dont change the ones we already have.

F*ck it, I want Supergirl and She-Hulk to be replaced by men. Yeah we have men versions, Hulk and SM, whatever, I want Supergirl and She-Hulk replaced by men but still called Supergirl and She-Hulk. Lets really get this equality thing kicked in to high gear.

This is just stupid, by far the most sensible character to switch would be Ironman. Hell, they pretty much teased that in Ironman 3.
Dont f*ck with IronMAN, MAN.

Nah, I don't think there's a reason for Thor. Cap's not a big deal, like you said, it's a gimmick. Anyone can wear the hood and carry the shield.

This whole she Thor thing is just a cash in and a pretty lame one. There have been other Thors before and I expect this one will last just as long as the others.

So she's gonna run around with the hammer while Thor runs around with an axe and they're both gonna be called Thor? Yeah, the whole thing is stupid.

He-Hulk?

But I like She-Hulk. Her 90's title was massively underrated.

Anyway, Iron Man is moving to San Fransisco with his fancy new iSuit, so yeah, he's gonna be a total gay.

I think you should really start preparing yourself for gay Iron Man. All the rumours are saying that Superior Iron Man is gonna be someone the fans may take some time to get used to, so I'm expecting the end game for that story to be Tony Stark having trouble coming to terms with his sexuality.

I'm not even joking.

Yeah and like I said, he's moving to San Francisco. What does that tell you? Totally gay Iron Man. It's the next Marvel logical step and you all know it. I'd stake my reputation on it.
