The first minute is a recap of Season 2, but then it's all about what's coming in August... and it looks like being a lot of fun.

Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer / The Atom, Peter Stromare as the Count Vertigo, Devon Aoki as Tatsu Yamashiro/ Katana, Roy becoming Arsenal, rumours of Laurel officially becoming Black Canary and word that Thea will have her greatest story-arc to date (which will surely feature her being trained by her dad) all add up to a show confident in going forward.

Oh, and there's a very subtle hint at a major name change that will mean something to those who know the comics.

This has been a really great season so far.

Episode 2 is heartbreaking, while episode 6 sees the debut of the boxing-glove-arrow... and it just works.

It did work really well and the reveal at the end is quite exciting as well... For those who don't watch at US pace...

Did you catch the little hints in the previous episodes about her reveal as well?

Yeah.

This show has been great all season and the big 4-hour, two-episode cross-over with The Flash is coming soon too, which I'm really looking forward to.

Arrow is, for me, the best comic book thing about. But Im biased as a massive Green Arrow fan.

Like Flash, this season has been great and the crossover episodes were fantastic.

I watched them back to back tonight, Flash first and then Arrow.

Damn, that fight between Arrow and Flash in the Flash episode was awesome, very well shot and directed and done in a way that makes sense rather then just having them fight over a girl or some other usual lame tired segway.

The little nods in the script as well pointing out it was a crossover, slightly breaking the fourth wall between Laurel and Ollie made me chuckle as well - for all it's slight dark undertones, Arrow and its writers and actors know they are starring in a television show about a comic book character and enjoy it rather then go over the top with it or be embarrassed about it.

Draw, my arse! Oliver clearly won the fight in the end. He achieved his goal, Barry didnt.

If you can catch a punch from the fastest man alive and catch him a choke hold when you don't have superpowers, then hell yeah, you win.

Cisco was just welching on his bet.

The writers also did a fantastic job of explaining why one show is bright and fun, while the other is dark and violent, without it seeming cheesy or to in your face.

Well there is only one thing to say to that mid-season finale. HOLY S**T! It should return on January the 21st but that has not been confirmed as yet.

I had a little feeling all along that it would be Thea that killed Canary, although I think they bottled it by having her supposedly under the influence of a drug, after all why train at all if you're not going to us it willingly? Also I am getting super excited about the ATOM reveal when it happens fully - wonder if this universe will twist him into a villain or if he will join the team OR perhaps his own spin off?

Also Super Dupper, ahead of US Pace spoiler...

Arrow has survived but how it isn't clear, he will return in episode 14 I presume which is titled the Return

I liked how

that even though it was a bit of a cop-out having Thea mind-controlled, the reason for it made perfect sense in the show as Merlyn played Oliver once again.

Other highlights were

Ra's talking about how he was last challenged 67yrs ago, hinting - but not outright saying - there is a Lazarus Pit somewhere.

And that ending??? WTF indeed.

I know what you mean...

Without a pit there is no way that Oliver came come back from those injuries - Ra's daughter I reckon will bring him back as she doesn't believe he is the killer. Wonder if we'll get a trippy afterlife episode? Plus just how boss did Ra's look dodging him with no weapon and then just disarming him like it was nothing.

Panto season means late catch up for me, but HOLY CRAPSTICKS! One hell of an episode, cant wait for January.

Ra's looked amazing. Just hard as nails.

I've been really enjoying this since it's mid-season break. Vinnie Jones was really good as Brick and even Laurel isn't all that annoying any more.

To follow up on the Flash trailer from yesterday, here is one for Arrow... and it's also a belter.

With Flash adding new characters and cast members (including one "for the benefit of those with Flash photography" - cheers for that one, Nimf), stablemate Arrow is not being left behind.

To that end, they have cast Echo Kellum as Mr. Terrific, Alexander Calvert as Anarky (who gained a lot of exposure in Batman: Akrham Origins) and, as the big bad of the season, Neal McDonough as Damien Darhk.
