Posted September 23, 201410 yr The Merseyside derby kicks off this weeks games and with both teams looking fairly shite I think this could be a high scoring game. I'm saying a Liverpool win, maybe 3-1.
September 23, 201410 yr Total guess, but I'm feeling Everton for no reason. Lots of goals and close though, 4-3 or 3-2 Everton.
September 23, 201410 yr I don't think either side has really stood out just yet and |I reckon this will most likely be a draw, 1-1/2-2. It could be a kick starter for either side though if they get a good win
September 27, 201410 yr Author Strong attacking line up from us today, should be a good game, I was more nervous about West Ham last week to be honest.
September 27, 201410 yr S**t forgot this had it's own thread. Can't wait for it to start, atmosphere should be amazing. Pity it's not a night game again, last seasons derby under lights was one of my favourite games ever.
September 27, 201410 yr Author It takes time to gel all these new players, Studge will be back next game, so all will be fine with us.
September 27, 201410 yr Looks like Liverpool are a club in crisis. They're even below United Liverpool have had the harder run of fixtures out of the two: Liverpool: Southampton (H) Man City (A) Spurs (A) Aston Villa (H) West Ham (A) Everton (H) Man United: Swansea (H) Sunderland (A) Burnley (A) QPR (H) Leicester (A) West Ham (H)
September 27, 201410 yr And yet they've still bottled the easier fixtures. The comparison is actually far fairer than you're crediting.
September 27, 201410 yr Well you're saying that Liverpool can be forgiven for being shaky because their games have been much harder. In reality, they lost 1-0 to Aston Villa at Anfield and 3-1 to West Ham away whilst looking incredibly lucky to scrap a win in their supposedly piss-easy UCL game. Those games, on paper, were no less difficult than Leicester away or Swansea at home. Yes, they've faced Man City and lost. Chances are, so will United. Yes, they've drawn vs. Everton at home. Chances are, so will United. Liverpool have had one extra game which they were lucky to survive, but at the end of the day they've bottled games they should have swept up. You cannot blame playing Man City and Spurs on looking like a truck of garbage against a team like West Ham. Forget league positions: right now, Liverpool have a problem and that's not a deniable opinion.
September 27, 201410 yr Well you're saying that Liverpool can be forgiven for being shaky because their games have been much harder. No, I didn't. If I'd have wanted to say that, I would have said that. I don't agree with that, so I didn't say that. You cannot blame playing Man City and Spurs on looking like a truck of garbage against a team like West Ham. Forget league positions: right now, Liverpool have a problem and that's not a deniable opinion. You seem to have read something completely different to what I've written. Jay made the point that Liverpool are lower in the league table than Man United, using United's infamous poor start as a barometer for Liverpool's failings. Liverpool are even worse off than United. I made the point that Liverpool's fixtures have been harder than United's. Which they have. So I would expect Liverpool to be behind United in the league at this stage, poor start or no poor start. So if you want to argue that Liverpool have had a poor start you won't get any argument from me. If You want to argue that Liverpool have some fundamental problems, again, I'm not your man. I predicted United to finish above Liverpool pre-season and after United had had a poor start, before United's first win and before Liverpool dropped 8 points out of 9. If you want to argue that the fact Liverpool are below United now is a decisive point or that United haven't had an easier set of fixtures than Liverpool I will argue that. Because it's not true.
September 28, 201410 yr Too be fair it was more of a tongue in cheek comment has Liverpool fans have been jumping united. But kings point about players gelling is a fair one same goes with united though
September 28, 201410 yr Author It does to a degree, all ye are short is defenders and injuries are hammering ye, we just need to gel or maybe Rodgers buys are rubbish, end of the season we will know more obviously.
September 28, 201410 yr Too be fair it was more of a tongue in cheek comment has Liverpool fans have been jumping united. Yeah, I knew there was a possibility that you weren't being completely serious but it is something that I've seen said straight laced elsewhere, so I thought it was worth bringing up.
