November 3, 201410 yr Do think Liverpool might go backs to the wall for a face-saving 1-0 loss? They're damned if they do, damned if they don't though, because, come on, they're not going to win, no one's going to win against Real Madrid in the Champion's League right now, least of all Liverpool, but if they just go totally crazy, play for a win and lose 8-0, they're a laughing stock, but, if they go backs to the wall, and take a respectable 1-0 loss, or even a 0-0, then people will go at them for not wanting it enough, or not being ruthless enough. They're the new Arsenal, they're the new team unreasonable people expect unreasonable results from every game, and there always has to be an issue other than "they were better". It's Real Madrid, you lose to Real Madrid, that's what you do. Unless Balotelli just actually runs of the stadium yelling homophobic abuse at the crowd, I don't want to see any hack journalists gunning for poor Liverpool like there's anything they could have done.
November 3, 201410 yr Author Nope I can't see anything other than us getting battered from pillar to post so to speak, they hammered us at Anfield, and with Bale back now I really do fear for us more than any other game in recent memory.
November 3, 201410 yr Mario to grab a dramatic late winner and liverpool to win 1 nil and then the universe to promptly implode.
November 4, 201410 yr Author Strange one if he leaves Sterling out, if we get hammered now it surely will lead to more bad press for Rodgers.
November 4, 201410 yr As Adele catchily sang, rumour has it (:P) that Rodgers is resting a fair few regular Liverpool starters with the Chelsea game in mind. Reading between the lines, and this is the press rather than me, he's given up on qualifying from this group already, and wants to give himself the best shot for qualification again this year. Might as well write his own P45. As for the result tonight, well if Real go for the jugular then this will be - and I'm serious - "double figures nil". 10-0, 11-0, 12-0 possibly. Howeverrrrr... I think Real will get to 4-0 in the first half and d*ck around in the second, which in many ways will be even more humiliating for Liverpool. Famous last words; just watch Liverpool nick a win now :P. Cheers!
November 4, 201410 yr Real will do what did in the last game, go a couple up in the first half and coast it through to the finish. They are nearly qualified from the group already and have just got their backsides back to the top of La Liga which I have the feeling they really want to get back this year after finally getting that 10th Champions League/European Cup. Rumour is there is a Twitter account you can sign up to and pledge funds via for a fly over of a banner asking the board to sack Rogers. Or if he is fired, the man henceforth known as Moyes v2.0
November 4, 201410 yr Author Expected lineup for tonight, Rodgers what you done man!! http://ftbpro-post-images.s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/production/5458e93a7412296da2000001
November 4, 201410 yr Liverpool are resting Lovern, Johnson, Gerrard and Balotelli tonight. Our chances of getting a result have actually gone up without them. edit - never seen your post King, I'd have Allen, Can and Sterling in for Lambert, Markovic and Lucas. Happy with the other guys been dropped though, but slightly pissed to see Lucas and Lambert in the team. Edited November 4, 201410 yr by dpddave
November 4, 201410 yr Author I like that back 3 behind Lambert, pool Kolo could get hammered tonight.
November 4, 201410 yr Ye, even Sterling up front instead of Lambert and Allen instead of Lucas and try and hit them with pace of the counter. Kolo against Ronaldo and friends should be funny but Lovern has been shite all season as well.
November 4, 201410 yr Has to be said that although they are losing Liverpool are still playing better then they have in the past few games.
November 4, 201410 yr From tonight i I was Rogers I'd realise that he doesn't need to play Gerrard, that Borrini needs to be given a chance and that its okay to have a plan other then pass to Sterling. Madrid could have scored more but Liverpool didn't disgrace themselves and raised their game when needed. Hopefully they can get the results needed from their last two games.
November 5, 201410 yr Madrid are exciting as f*ck in attack this season and could have had 5 or 6. All credit to Liverpool though to the point they can leave the Bernabeu with their heads held high. I still think Liverpool will qualify. Beating Basle at home and Ludogorets away will be difficult, but they can do it. Edited November 5, 201410 yr by FreeSpirit
November 5, 201410 yr Author I thought Kolo was outstanding last night and our defense looked much more solid, same ol story with attack though and we seem to have created nothing again.Big ask to win the next 2 games going on current form but it's not impossible.Interesting to see that the player who's getting hammered over not scoring was not even given 10 minutes last night, hopefully Rodgers now knows that Mario is just a waste of time and he can't keep picking him, like he does with Joe Allen who I thought was rubbish last night.
