Posted November 9, 201410 yr MOYES IS BACK! The former manager is set to take over the Real Sociedad job today or tomorrow according to various sources today. Best of luck to him, it will take him some time to get rid of the stigma of his tine with Utd.
November 9, 201410 yr If that's true then it's very intriguing indeed. Best of luck to him. Got a lot of time for Moyes. Cheers!
November 9, 201410 yr Good luck to him. I don't know why the United job is tarnishing him so much when LVG is doing a far worse job of it and he's getting zero stick.
November 9, 201410 yr I really really hope he helps us out. Our start has been dreadful but he has probably the best sociedad squad in a long time. They do remind me of the Everton system so he could fit in well. Moyes redeem yourself and get my club back into top 10!
November 9, 201410 yr Good luck to him. I don't know why the United job is tarnishing him so much when LVG is doing a far worse job of it and he's getting zero stick. two reasons one moyes was out of his depth at united and two everyone outside Chelsea are would are worse

November 9, 201410 yr Looks like they are about to get a vital win over Atletico as a welcome present. I wish him the best of luck, he was given an impossible task and this is hopefully the first step back to a decent career once more.
November 9, 201410 yr No he has won major trophies we know he can win trophies. Moyes only won a play off with Preston that's it. It will take time for lvg to fix united moyes couldn't have in my opinion who wants to play under notes he wasn't draw for players. Wrong man for the job. I doubt he will last long here too end of season tops
November 9, 201410 yr The thread for the LVG v Moyes debate is the Will United finish in the top 4 thread. This is a big test for Moyes though, considering he has managed few European games and never abroad. Still he can't be as bad as Souness in Turkey.
November 9, 201410 yr I don't think he's wrong for it. Sociedad have a decent squad with a very good youth development system that has produced great players. They will let em develop his own way with the team which are a good bunch of guys What pisses me off about us is we step it up against big teams (2 Madrid wins and valencia draw) yet other games is what let us down. That has to stop.
November 10, 201410 yr So its been reported by sociedad president that he has yet to agree a deal. Target is by today but moyes is still unsure. If he doesn't agree for it it will be chris favourite manager pepe Mel instead who has agreed terms
November 10, 201410 yr Apparently it's not wages that's the issue but it now doesn't look like he will become our coach unless things change
November 10, 201410 yr The deal is done apparently. Good luck to him. Have a feeling he is gonna need it.
November 10, 201410 yr Well there is a tradition of British managers of the club, the likes of Toshack and Coleman so its not a complete surprise. Two year deal, lot of expectation but in Spain, if you put together a good run of form, given how inconsistent the clubs outside of the big five or six are, then it is still not impossible for him to snatch European football. For those wondering, the big six at the moment are Real, Barca, Atletico, Bilbao, Sociedad and Valencia. Used to have Betis and Deportivo up there as well, but alas, they fell by the wayside.
November 11, 201410 yr Actually, according to the all time La Liga table you're right... 1 Real Madrid 2 Barcelona 3 Valencia 4 Atlético Madrid 5 Athletic Bilbao 6 Espanyol 7 Sevilla 8 Real Sociedad The table is based on seasons in the top division, points number of titles and time in the actual top six in the league. I expect Malaga to fall away soon, as they are nowhere near as good as they once were given the problems in the past few seasons off the pitch and their squad much thinner, as well as Celta who are hit and miss. I think, so long as they pick up points against Bilbao and Villarreal, they should finish the season in 6th, ahead of them and in the Europa League places. They have the talent to at least.
November 11, 201410 yr I wasn't really thinking about tables, more just who the six current established top teams are in Spain in terms size, relative success and brand/public perception. In the same way you'd probably have to consider Spurs a top six side (for now) despite their naff start to the season. Although an all time table is pretty interesting, but I guess could be misleading to the current situation because for example City wouldn't be high in Englands but you couldn't argue they were not one of todays top six. November 11, 201410 yr Good luck to him :). Are Sociedad as strictly Basque-y as Bilbao with their playing staff? Cheers!
November 11, 201410 yr No we sign foreigners too but we really do give youth the chance to step up. Perfect examples are illiarmendi and griezmann edit - our first ever foreigner to play for us was John Aldridge. What do you know :lol I agree with sevilla being better but now deal is done hopefully we should get back up the table with some results Edited November 11, 201410 yr by The Fury
