"The year is 2029. John Connor, leader of the resistance continues the war against the machines. At the Los Angeles offensive, John's fears of the unknown future begin to emerge when TECOM spies reveal a new plot by SkyNet that will attack him from both fronts; past and future, and will ultimately change warfare forever."

Probably since people started making livings out of being Vloggers/Bloggers/podcasters and they found that they can generate even more hype for even less investment by teasing trailers so people talk about the movies well ahead of any trailer even being ready to be made.

I hate when they spell words wrong on purpose. Genisys? Come on man. I get the sys for system or whatever, but stick it up your ass....all up in your ass.

Still, I marked for old Arnie looking at his cyborg hand. I dont care if it sucks, its Terminator with Arnie...and none of those sucked, including 3 which was the shit!

I'm with your there and with (what appears to be) the T-1000 making a reappearance, I'm in.

Since when have they been making teasers for trailers? Surely that's somewhat redundant?
They've been doing it for a while. The recent Episode VII is a teaser (although a bit longer than this), Avengers had one, Amazing Spider-Man 2 had one, The Dark Knight had one, 2009 Star Trek... even going back, Terminator 2 had a teaser for the main trailer and going further back again, Superman had one.

It's not a new thing, it's just a lot easier to use them with today's technology.

No I know they had Teasers that were then followed by trailers a few weeks/months later. What I mean is since when do you get a teaser trailer to tell you a trailer is coming out a couple of days later. It just seems dumb to me.

The full trailer has been released a day early. You can see it HERE~

I'll admit, it looks better than I thought, but the concept is kinda silly. Screws up the already screwed up continuity even more but I guess that's part of the fun. It's like, they're self aware of all the timeline mistakes they've made and are going back to the source to fix things only for them to already be messed up again, I... I guess? I dunno, time travel gives me a headache.

I watched the trailer last night and one thing I can't get my head around. Surely as soon as Kyle goes back in time and Sarah is now abadass this means the future has changed and John Conner now doesn't exsist. Unless Kyle and Sarah still get it on, in which case ignore this.

Yeah they've surely got to get it on in this film, simply because the entire premise of the film cannot exist if they don't.

To me at least it looks as though this film is set just after the events of the first film, so logically that means that once this film has player out, T2:JD never happened? I think. I'm lost :lol.

EDIT: Wait there wait there. Hmm. Now I'm totally lost. So Kyle Reese was, timeline wise, born in the late 90's approx. He grew up to be about 30 years old, was sent back by John Connor (obvs his dad) to 1985-ish to protect his mother from a Terminator. Presumably John Connor has never twigged what happens, and who his dad is?

So if Reese dies in the 80's but is still born in the 90's, this means there can be more than one Kyle Reece at a single time?

Only one Reece is ever born but we know nothing that Reece does in the 80's or distant future prevents him from being born, so he can be sent back in multiple timelines forever more.

So as soon as, in this movie, Sarah Connor says to Reece, "we stopped the Terminator before" (I paraphrase), knowing that Reece died fighting the Terminator the last time, then yeah, T2 now cannot happen.

Reason is because in T2, Sarah in the mental hospital is only aware that Reece came back once.

It's either screwing with the timeline like a numpty or utter genius, this film :lol.

Cheers!

It's pretty much a reboot but damn it looks good. DAMN GOOD!

EDIT: Or there is something that will be revealed in the film that caused the change in the timeline and explain it all and that is the twist they aren't sharing to make us go watch the film...

Like Arnie v Arnie and Emilia Clarke being hot and tough as Sarah Connor wouldn't do that...

Little strange fact, that means now two cast members of Game of Thrones have now played Sarah Connor. Lena Headley played him in the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV Series.

It's set in both the 2029 future (word is there's a lot of future scenes) and during the time-frame of the original movie.

If you watch the trailer, you can see that the original T800 goes back and then so does Reese. Kyle lands in the exact same spot in the exact same time from the first movie and goes through the same shopping mall to get his trainers / jacket.

Another section of the trailer has the original T800 at the point where he either is about to or just has killed Bill Paxton and Brian Thomson (so Paxton's having been killed by an Alien, a Predator and a Terminator might be retconned :lol), when old-man-Arnie-T800 shows up.

As reported, it's very much a Back to the Future II scenario.
