Man Utd Vs Liverpool

Okay f**k this International rubbish, one of the biggest games in world football kicks off next Saturday at 5.30.

Utd's starting XI should be interesting and with Pool being hammered by West Ham, surely Rodgers opened a can of whoop ass and told them to get their shit together.

So I'm calling this an away win, surely you didn't think I was gonna say a Utd win :lol

Im going to say 3-1 Liverpool. Benteke hatrick and a og from Lovren to start things off. Both teams to be down to 10 men by the end of the game as well.

Then Rogers RKO's Van Gaal outta nowhere for saying something. Just to go really out there with my prediction

I'm thinking either a 1-0 or 2-0 united, apologies to all Liverpool fans as I don't support either but will be watching the game, but I think it will be a united win narrowly in a boring game played mainly in the center of the pitch.

Seen that on twitter last night, along with some predictably comical tweets such as "who's not going to score for Man United now?!" :lol

It might actually improve the team depending on how Van Gaal sets up. I'm far from convinced with Rooney as the lone number 9 these days, not sure he's particularly effective in that role and would be better playing behind a striker. He comes so far deep to get involved that it leaves them with no fire power in the box and struggling for goals.

We'll see on the Rooney front, it is strange that only the M.E.N. reported it and then other outlets copied them. I don't trust the M.E.N. or the Metro for that matter to give me concrete reporting, both papers are given away in the street after all.

On paper, with Coutinho, Sturridge and Henderson all being out you'd say United have the better line up and should win this game but the fact is a) its a grudge match only matched in recent years by the Derby for United and the Scouse Derby for Pool and b) both teams haven't clicked yet and are unsure what their best line up is.

I never predict a United game, its a superstition I've had since I was 10 and I did it once (1994 Cup Final against Chelsea, bet my brother we'd win by two or more and won a tenner, know my luck would be different the next time around), so I'm not going to say who I think will win but all I can say is that it will be a close game and I hope my boys come through for me.

Awful first half, great second half. Should have finished 3-2 really but for that Blind clearance on the line and he was excellent today - neither he, Smalling or De Gea could do anything about that Benteke goal however - that was a cracker.

Blind and Martial's goals where quality as well but Memphis needs to take a lesson from Ashley Young for me. In the first half, Memphis brought the ball down and looked to go past the defender to the inside with that first touch - Young squared him up instead after taking him outside and then went through him and caused a problem that won the free kick from which United unlocked the door.

Memphis needs to learn to do that more, to be less predictable and he'll come good, Martial on the strength of that goal could be something special, but lets not get ahead of ourselves and Bastian was quality today in that midfield as well. Make no mistake about it though, we are still a pacey winger and a good striker away from being a top team.

But Liverpool where by and large poor, they let United boss that game and Rogers for me, if this continues, has to go. More and more it becomes apparent that that season where they came close was not due to Rogers brilliant management, it was down to that quartet of Sterling, Suarez, Sturridge and Gerrard.

Hate to say it @Evil Gringo but i totally agree. Rogers doesnt look like a good manager. Benteke has flashes of brilliance but there is no service. Maybe once coutinho, henderson and lallana are back it will pick up. The defence was shocking today thou. Centrally we are so weak. Skrtl and lovren are not good together. Bring back sakho and see what happens.

Both teams have a long way to go by the looks of todays game. Passes went astray far too often. Shaw looks quality. Blind was immense. Bastian just oozes class.
