Just out of interest, how long do you guys wait to watch tv shows or do you watch them live? I typically leave it until the weekend after to binge watch my shows, so it can be fairly tricky to avoid spoilers on social media etc for big shows such as Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead - especially when it's a season finale or a main character is being killed off. It also doesn't help that most of these shows are on Sunday night which means there is a whole week during which I have to navigate the internet without seeing what happened.

Game of Thrones must be watched as soon as humanly possible. For example, I have already "acquired" the first episode of the new season, so I'll be watching that when I get back from the gym later, which means I get to watch it about an hour before all the folks watching it on Sky Atlantic.

Although admittedly, that is the only show I do that for anymore, and the first one I've been this committed to watching since Lost ended. Everything else I'm fairly happy to just leave for a few episodes to build up, and then have a binge watch of it over a weekend.

That being said, Daredevil Season 2 is like crack. I sat down with the missus to check out the first episode of the season to see what it was like, and next thing you know it's 1am and we're 4 episodes deep! :lol

Sky aired the episode at 2am this morning - it was simulcast with the USA.

Did they really? Well that means my brother in law completely missed it, because he's been bitching at me all day about having to wait until 9pm tonight to watch it.

This amuses me greatly. :D

I've found that I really enjoy the "binge" format that Netflix offers, to the point that with several shows I used to watch religiously the morning after they'd air, I'm now watching them in 4-5 episode chunks. Some even waiting until the end of the season to watch all at once.

I very rarely watch any big show "live" or even record it to watch later. I much prefer to wait until something is wrapped up and I can watch from start to finish in huge binge sessions. The only things that fall out of that catagory is things like BBC dramas where it's the same characters but each season is one story (Line of duty for example) or reality/documentary type stuff like the Island or Deadliest Catch where there's no arc to follow.

I love finding anime series and then watching the fuck out of them all in the space of a week or so. I finished Love, Chuunibyo and other Delusions Seasons 1+2, Tokyo Ghoul S1+2 and am halfway through Toradora all in the space of about 3 weeks.

It looks like they are doing it for the season as episode 2 is on at 2am next Monday also :lovesign:
I normally download the shows I like and watch them the following day (so Gotham on a Tuesday, Flash on a Wednesday, etc).

There are few joys greater in life than finding a new show on Netflix and withdrawing from society for a good old binge :eyebrows:

Agreed!

On the other hand, there are fewer lows than when you get into those last few episodes and know you'll have to figure out what to do with your life afterward...

Or when you end up loving every second of it, get to the end of the first season (with massive cliffhanger, natch) and look up season 2 only to find out it was cancelled.
I just wait till the end of seasons then binge watch the seasons, I find it appeals to me more that way, than waiting week to week, which does my head in.

That's a terrible feeling.
