Posted July 31, 20168 yr I've been watching a lot of standup comedy specials lately. Joe Rogan, Bryan Callen, Tom Segura to name a few. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

August 5, 20168 yr I really like Aziz Ansari's stand up stuff, and Katherine Ryan's most recent show is on spotify and well worth checking out, if only for her Cheryl Cole impression.
August 7, 20168 yr Katherine Ryan is someone I enjoy on the panel show circuit, but don't think I could handle a full-length show from her (ditto Andy Parsons). I left out Micky Flanagan, Greg Davies and Rhod Gilbert (The Man with the Flaming Battenberg Tattoo is hilarious) from my earlier list too. Also, it's a shame that Ask Rhod Gilbert only ran for two seasons. Edited August 7, 20168 yr by DC
August 7, 20168 yr Everybody sort of ignores his stand up work because of his career now of being a loud short person in movies and loving himself a little too much, but Kevin Hart and his first two specials in particular are actually quite damn funny. His story of a time he encountered an Ostrich, his jailbird uncle, reconnecting with his father... all golden.
August 7, 20168 yr I love Frankie Boyle's stuff too, but that's mainly because he's now hit the point where he's trying to be as offensive as possible to as many people as he can.
August 7, 20168 yr I listen to a lot of podcasts hosted by comedians who regularly have me laughing out loud but those same comedians have produced specials that at best make me break the odd smile. I'm talking about Joe Rogan, Tony Hinchcliffe and co. Two Irish comedians who I would have to recommend are Tommy Tiernan and Des Bishop. Some of Tommy's stuff is ridiculously funny. Des Bishop is really American but he's based in Ireland. Never thought much of him until I saw him live. He's similar to Joe Rogan in that his comedy is thought provoking etc but not side splitting for the most part.
August 12, 20168 yr Tony Law is really funny too, so you should look out for his stuff on YouTube. Will do
