Posted November 28, 20177 yr I have a friend that has set a target of how many movies she can watch in a month. I believe this helps in instilling some discipline. I am not one of those people to stick to a plan since I prefer to watch movies when I have time. What about you?
December 20, 20177 yr That's a unique type of discipline. I can't and don't want to make that kind of restriction to myself. I watch movies as long as they make me feel interested. If I'm intrigued, I'll make the time to see it. Is it like a group activity? If she is doing it with some friends like in a movie club, I can understand why they have that kind of target.
December 20, 20177 yr Author @Luna, it isn't much of a group activity but I think most people feel out of place when a discussion about a movie or TV series is taking place, and they have no clue. I am not the type to keep tabs on each movie out there but I only watch when I have time.
December 21, 20177 yr I never set a goal of how many movies I watch. However I go to the cinema once a week and have done for 30 years plus. So in that way I kind of have a goal of 1 (cinema) film a week. (My first Cinema film pre going once a week as I was only about 7 was Empire Strikes back. My first weekly film was sometime around summer 1988 and I believe was Die Hard.)

I am not the type to keep tabs on each movie out there but I only watch when I have time. That is certainly true. Movies often become the bridge between people to communicate, so I can understand how out-of-the-loop someone feels when he doesn't know what the other person talks about. It's just not a reason strong enough to make me visit the theaters on a regular schedule, though. If the movie doesn't make me go after it on the theater, it may not be my type. What happens if there is no new movie or there is nothing that interests you in a week? Do you still force yourself to go?
December 21, 20177 yr Yes. I still go. Almost always there is something or a classic showing somewhere. It has happened nothing at all new came out I would pay to see. I recall once seeing spiderman 3 twice as no good film came out the week after.

I recall once seeing spiderman 3 twice as no good film came out the week after. That's the strange part for me. I haven't had a movie I loved so much that I'd go pay for it more than once to watch on the theater. It also gets rather boring the second time because I already know what is going to happen and the memory is still fresh. It's a different case if some time has passed, though.
December 25, 20177 yr Author Going to the cinema once per week will make you watch say, at least 48 movies/films in a year, which isn't a bad number, by all means. I find it hard to push myself to watching a movie, at least once per week. It would be easier to push myself to completing a read, twice a month.
