Do you think that the stream of sex scandals coming from Hollywood is over for the time being or do you think things are only just getting started? How do you feel about what's happened? Do you think all of them are facing ruined careers? I'm mixed on them. I think Harvey Weinstein is definitely over. Kevin Spacey? I'm thinking probably not. Do you think that this will continue to affect Hollywood or do you think the attention has been effectively switched over to the politicians?

It seems that every headline I read these days is about someone having been sexually assaulted or harassed. I am quite sick of it all. I do believe some of it is true and others are just to get the publicity. Weinstein is gone for sure. Didn't this all start with Bill Cosby? What's happened to that case?
I don't know what happened with the Bill Cosby thing, but anyone who thinks this didn't go on practically forever is kidding themselves. I would love to see the women that Donald Trump abused take him to court. My fingers are crossed!

He looks like the ultimate bad guy to beat, eh.

Looking at Weinstein's case, we may be looking at a change happening. It looks as if the old methods of covering up their wrongdoings don't work anymore. With the number of scandals popping up lately, there are talks about the attempts to change. We're at the age where this kind of topic is being taken seriously. I don't know if it's going to successfully happen, but one can't be blamed for hoping.

@Kira As far as I know, he's waiting for a retrial of an old sexual assault case.

My first question is why did everyone wait until now to tell about it happening? My second question is if it really happened, why did some of these women keep putting themselves in the situation for it to continue happen?
I haven't been following the events unfolding in Hollywood but the assumption that every celebrity has to have been involved in a sex scandal, is sickening. It is important to tackle such scandals by applying the rule of law though I agree that some celebrities love any publicity!

Unfortunately, a lot of people knew about Trump's past with these kinds of incidents before they elected him President because it came out during campaigning. If the hope is that he will get taken out of office over it, I wouldn't count on it.

Sometimes, people are too scared to come out on their own but when one person gets the courage to do it, others find strength in numbers. Secondly, some of the situations are a little questionable. I don't know why they would put themselves in situations like that but some people are sometimes too naive or trusting to really know what can happen. I think a lot of people usually think along the lines of "but that would never happen to me."

I am talking about the women who claim it happened on numerous occasions. If someone keeps grabbing your breasts, stay away from them. Some of these women kept going back because they wanted promotions etc. Sorry but that's not sexual assault, that's prostitution.

That's exactly right Carmie!!! I just wonder how many did go back time and again for promotions and favors. Maybe they are the ones "squealing" now because of a guilty conscience.
If someone was abusing me or making unwanted advances, or even making sex a condition of my job, I would just punch them in the nose and go about my business. I wouldn't stay to see how long I could take it just to have a job. Women, of which I am one, seem to be ashamed of others using them and don't want the bad press or something. Get some brass ones and punch them in the nose or as my mother did, hit them with a cast iron skillet.
I totally agree with Talksalot. Give them "what for" and then when they try to have you arrested for assault, tell the police and the press what they did immediately. Why wait?

I don't mean to be offensive, but let's try to be considerate. They might need the job and the money more than anything else at that point. What happened when a newcomer called out her senior for a sexual assault? Even though everybody else knew she said the right thing, would anybody stand with her? Where would her career go from that point on? I still disagree with their choices, but it was a tough cycle to break.

The power imbalance is still a deadly weapon these days. That's the most disappointing part.

Such a great discussion but the fact of the matter is that it is much better when sexual offences are reported to the authorities, as soon as they happen. There are many angles to this but we have to agree that when issues are raised much later after they've happened, it becomes harder to validate them!
