I expect we'll see Shinsuke vs AJ again, possibly a triple threat adding Daniel Bryan to it as well. I wouldn't be surprised if Roman wins the title at Greatest Rumble and defends it against Joe at Backlash either.

Likely to see Usos vs Bludgeon Brothers there too, I think they announced that on Smackdown. I believe we're also seeing The Bar vs either Revival or Matt/Bray at that night too.

I wouldn't mind if WWE kind've models NXT Takeover shows where most the matches are title matches with 1 or 2 non-title matches. It'd also be great if they actually made the matches kick as much ass as Takeover matches typically do. But when I see them doing stuff like Mahal vs Orton...I just don't know.

Mahal vs Orton worst feud of 2017 revived here, and all of these other matches make sense and maybe a Carmella Charlotte rematch if Charlotte isn't moved in superstar shuffle.
Jinder vs Mahal= piss break. The rest sounds good on paper.
After Reigns win the Title in Saudia Arabia the match with Joe will be the main event.

Now I'd imagine Jinder/Orton becomes a triple threat with Jeff added to the mix and that sounds a bit better of a match.

Miz could end up bringing the IC title back to Smackdown if he beats Seth at Backlash too.

  • 3 weeks later...

Thought it was an OK show.

Thought the Elias segment wasn't too bad either, better than the usual cringey stuff

I'm surprised Nakamura/Styles ended in a double count out - especially with the match as no DQ.

I wasn't expecting Carmella to beat Charlotte without any help!

Samoa Joe lost clean

Yea I actually enjoyed the comedy segment. The only thing missing was the one man band, Heath Slater, babayyyyyyyyyy

Sadly though, the show was mostly blah. Seth/Miz was a great start, great performance by both guys. Crowd dug it. But then the Nia promo was just way too long...it was nauseatingly cheesy. A quick 20 second promo of that same nature would've been great, not this 2 minute motivational speech with the crowd jeering behind her.

Loved Bryan making Cass tap out, that was great.

I didn't expect Carmella to win at all, I thought she'd lose but by DQ/Count Out, or MAYBE an assist from Peyton/Billie. I even thought it was possible Charlotte would just win the title back.

Nakamura/AJ was their best match in WWE yet, but the finish was stupid. The double low blow kick spot was sweet, but a count out in a DQ match? Really?

Joe/Roman started off with great intensity, very similarly to how Joe/Brock started at Great Balls of Fire. But once they got back in the ring, there wasn't much intensity and it just slowed down.

Overall, forgettable show.

This would explain the loss for Big Cass:

BIG CASS IN TROUBLE AFTER GOING OFF SCRIPT ON SMACKDOWN LAST WEEK

- Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting that Big Cass is in the dog house after he went off script during the Smackdown segment last week which involved a little person playing the role of a mini Daniel Bryan. Satin says that the original scenario called for Cass to hit the big boot and leave it at that. Cass wanted to take things a little further by delivering some punches and the idea was shot down by producers. He then went to Vince McMahon directly to present his pitch but McMahon also said no. But the in-ring segment took a different turn and Cass still went ahead and beat up the little guy after delivering the boot to the face. The reaction backstage was as you would expect and they were not happy at all that he decided to take matters in his own hands and go against a direct order. Cass was not used on Smackdown this week which may or may be not a reaction to his actions.

If it's true...what a plonker!:dumb:The video that was uploaded on WWE's Youtube channel, only showed up to the boot also:

I read about that too. There's something to be said for taking a chance on an idea you believe in and asking forgiveness later, but you gotta pick your battles. A big boot accomplishes what they were wanting to do with the segment...the punches didn't take away from it but they weren't necessary either and now he got himself in trouble. I've heard before he's already not very well liked backstage anyway, so idk wtf he's thinking.
Guy went into business for himself, but we'll see what punishment he really gets
