This series aired in 2013 on BBC and only stayed around for one year. Did any of you watch this? I watched the whole series and was very sad when it ended. I believe the writers could have continued at least another year. It was a time in history that I didn't know a lot about so I really enjoyed learning about the War of the Roses.

I watched it and thought it was really wonderful! I love historical dramas, especially from that time period. Have you watched the sequel, The White Princess? It's not quite as good in my opinion. It takes some really incredible liberties with history, especially with Elizabeth Woodville and Henry Tudor, but it was still very entertaining.
I have not see The White Princess, Weasley. Somehow, sequels are never as good as the original. I don't see how there are so many made. I will look for The White Princess just to see the liberties you talk about.
The White Princess is worth a watch, though I'll agree with Weasley that it's not as good as The White Queen. It was the same way with the books so it's not too surprising. Have you watched The Tudors, @Queenie? I think it's better than both of those shows.
It's true, @Queenie. Sometimes, sequels can be as good as the original but it's super rare to find one that is better than the original. Honestly, I can't even think of an example. You should check it out and let me know what you think! I agree, @Maya. The Tudors is better than The White Queen/Princess, but the latter are a lot more female-centric.

That's true, @Weasley. The female protagonists in The White Queen/Princess are definitely the focal point and the shows are about the power of women. However, The Tudors has strong female characters. Other than Henry VIII's first two wives, they aren't very well-developed since they're not around for all that long. Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn get a whole two seasons to themselves though. They're both strong women in their own ways.

Have either of your (or anyone else) watched The Borgias? It's been on my list for some time now.

I have not seen The Borgias @Maya but after watching a few trailers just now, it looks amazing. I love Jeremy Irons and that time period. I'll have to start at the beginning and see this through.
