No, it doesn't actually include the movie Murder on the Orient Express. First announced in 2016, BBC One and Agatha Christie Productions LTD planned to create TV series adapting seven novels over the next four years! The first one was aired on BBC One at the beginning of the month, titled Ordeal by Innocence. Other titles confirmed so far are Death Comes as the End and The ABC Murders.

As a fan of murder mystery, I wonder why I didn't know about this sooner. Better late than never, though! I'm off to watch Ordeal by Innocence since it only has 3 episodes to binge-watch.

I love Agatha Christie (and murder mysteries in general), but adaptations always make me nervous. Hopefully, they'll do a better job with the shows than they did with the movie. I didn't think Murder on the Orient Express was great. I know some people enjoyed it, I just didn't. It's always hard to remake a nearly perfect classic. Modern scores and CGI usually don't add to the film and they can easily take away from it. I trust BBC a lot more than I trust Hollywood in general though. Hopefully, they've done a great job. You'll have to let me know what you think once you've watched it!

I think I'll do a bit of binging myself, if I can find it. I'm looking forward to watching The ABC Murders when it's on as the book was spectacular. I just hope it doesn't get mucked up.

At the end of the day, that's all we can hope for!

I wish they'd let us know what the other four are. Which one of Christie's works would you like to see them do, other than the ones they've already mentioned? I would love to see Peril at End House or Five Little Pigs.

@Weasley I have finished watching Ordeal of Innocence. I enjoyed it to my expectation, so I finished the series with a hopeful heart that the upcoming series or movies will not disappoint! The scriptwriter had announced that she would make a different ending to the book, but at least it made sense. Some things could be explained more, but I wasn't bothered much.

I guess The ABC Murder is the one to look forward to, given the success of the novel.

I came across a news article confirming that The ABC Murder is coming soon. Filming has started back in June, but there is no confirmed airing date. It will probably come around the end of the year. (One more reason to look forward to Christmas!) I'm not a huge fan of detective shows like @Glimm, but it's hard not to get excited at this kind of production.

In the article linked above, you can see the photo of John Malkovich portraying Hercule Poirot. Does anyone else feel that he will do a better job than Kenneth Branagh?

It's wonderful to know that the project progressed smoothly! I will not be late this time. John Malkovich looks like a good casting decision; at least he didn't have Branagh's hideous moustache! I think he has the charisma necessary to portray Poirot successfully.

I also hope that they will follow the book this time. The previous adaptations had the ending changed, which isn't a negative point per se, but I wanted to know how it would look like according to the book.
