I was supporting Belgium in last year's World Cup competition and it is no surprise that it currently occupies the first position. Which country do you think doesn't deserve the position it currently occupies? Germany sitting at the 16th position, seems really odd.

I was also supporting Belgium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. I don't think Germany sitting in the 16th position is odd though. In the 2018 World Cup, Germany seemed to be a shadow of its former self. The team looked like it needed some younger, fresher legs.

I agree with you @Castle because at some point, football pundits regarded Germany as a team with no youngsters.

France seems like the team with a future, considering the average age of the squad.

France definitely seems to have a bright future. I would not be surprised if they also won the next World Cup. The team has world-class players who are still young and have a lot of room for improvement.

France has a great squad and stand a great chance to perform well at the next World Cup. A country that invests in sport and develops it at the youth level always stands a good chance at the senior level.
I place my bet on Brazil because there are a lot of talented players in that country. The only problem is that their government is not placing enough budget to really enhance the skill of its players.

And that’s what ails a lot of countries when it comes to fully supporting their players at the youth level. Look at Ajax’s academy system and the number of youth players that have come out of it!

What if countries adopted or even improved on such a system?

The competition will then become fiercer because players will greatly improve on their skills. The matches will be more intense and the games will become more entertaining to watch.
