I read comments about Keanu Reeves' girlfriend Alexandra Grant that made me sad and annoyed. The comments praise Reeves for dating someone close to his age, 55. Grant is 46. I guess by Hollywood standards, a nine-year difference is "close"?

To be honest when I saw the headlines I'd assumed he'd gone for an older woman. From just looking at the photos (was just glancing)...I thought he looked younger. I guess a big part of that was due to his dyed hair whereas she's got grey hair.

Oh, that is ridiculous, headrush. There's usually a huge difference between those two ages in terms of energy levels and interests in activities. Had the ages been reversed I bet the headlines would be different.

Well, Keanu Reeves does look pretty young for a guy in his mid-fifties. I agree with Kam that having a lot of gray hair makes it easy to assume the person's older than they are.

I feel like the age gaps above four or five years will make anyone talk about it regardless of the culture or community. Even more so if the woman is the older one. Since both are adults, I guess it's not really our business. I wish them happiness!

This might sound bad, but when I first saw the picture I thought she was more like 64. That is a hard 46 my friends.

 

I'm just glad he found someone. Someone as genuinely good and nice as Keanu deserves love. I hope he found it with her.

I think the point of those articles that talk about the age difference is that it's a much smaller age difference than you can see - It's not uncommon to see rich/powerful men with a significantly younger woman. 9 years is a big difference, but the older we get, the less of a big difference that becomes.

 

I'm 33 right now, so a 9 year difference would put me at dating a 24 year old or a 42 year old. My girlfriend is 27, she's the youngest person I've ever dated and that's a 6 year difference. Normally at this point in my life, even that would be too much BUT she's already gone through a lot of similar life experiences (Such as having a kiddo) that give us a lot more common ground than you might think. I would guess maybe that's what it's like when you're even older. By then, you've hit a lot of major life milestones like having had kids, kids grown up, maybe you've retired or maybe you're soon to do that, who knows.

 

Anyway, it's nice that he doesn't need some girl young enough to be his daughter hanging off his arm. I love Keanu :D

Keanu is the man. I typically don't look up to the Hollywood types, but I look up to him.

 

She seems like a very down-to-earth woman. Just his type if you ask me.

I saw casual pictures of her with her hair down, and she looks younger than in the glam shots. Her career is intriguing, and I agree that she seems like his type from what little I can tell. Yay, Keanu.
