Have you guys seen this series on CBS? It's absolutely fascinating! I knew that whistleblowers were often outed and faced backlash, but I had no idea that it was that extreme. I assumed that blowing the whistle was an act of altruism, and while that's often true, it's not always the case. I never considered how it could be used to enact vengeance, to get ahead, or to save oneself from punishment, so it was interesting to see that side of it too. I highly recommend the series if you haven't seen it yet.

For every whistle blower, there's a different reason why. Most of them want to see a company culture change for the better, but not all of them.
I didn't know much about whistleblowing, what is involved, and the risks people take until I read Edward Snowden's book Permanent Record. I will make an effort to watch this TV show soon. Is season 3 yet to be renewed?

Yeah, I think it's still up in the air. The show had more viewers this past season than it did before, but it's not a popular show with a cult following. I'm not sure why it hasn't gained more interest than it has. What did you think about Snowden's book? I've been meaning to read it, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I haven't seen it or heard about it. I'm going to look for it. Is it on hulu? It does sound pretty good!

I love a show that makes you think and pulls you in.

This reminds me of Clive Ponting, the whistleblower who leaked documents to the Labour government proving the Belgrano was sunk in the Falklands War outside of the exclusion zone. Was his actions altruistic, or politically motivated?

I didn't read Snowden's book yet. It is on my list though. Did you hear that President Trump was looking into his case. Do you think he will pardon him?

I have never heard of the TV show but it sounds good.
