Something new: A PRO HHH thread

Recommended Posts

Well... this is gonna be something unique, huh.

The deal is this.. this will be a thread with ZERO bad things to say about HHH. Anyone not sticking to this rule can have their post deelted. Harsh? Maybe, but this is a thread about PRO Hunter comments.

Anyone who has ANYTHING good to say about HHH, say it here. Whether its now, or back in his DX days.. say at least ONE nice thing about his past or present. If you can't say anythig nice, don't post :). And for those who do post nice things, don't antagonise anti-HHH'ers with comments on how wrong they are or so on.

With that in mind: go for it.

Oh yeah.. my pro HHH comment.

I liked HHH in his DX days, admittedly. Although not as much as most people, I did find his parody of the The Rock to be very funny. Same for his days with HBK. They blended together extremely well.

And I don't think many can doubt how good he was in late 99/early 2000.

There is no doubt that he is not what he was Game 2000. However, still a draw and can still pull off at the very least watchable matches. Quite possible the MVP 2000.

I enjoyed his matches in 2000 against Foley, Rock, Benoit, Angle and Austin.

When he is in with the right guys he can still put on a decent/good match.

3 years ago - I really admired Triple H and even brought the "I'm the Game because I'm that damn good!" t-shirt out of admiration for him!

He was truly the man and the one who helped the WWF to maintain it's number one spot in professional wrestling.

If he loses the excess muscle and review his performance 3 years ago - we'll see the old Triple H back:

The ability to have a decent match and made matches seem geniuenly exciting.

Hurrah! :)

Nice one draVen.

Anyway, I really liked Triple H in DX, and when Rock and Austin were gone he was superb in picking up the ball and running with it. I still like him now because even if he's not quite what he was in the ring three years ago, I still find many of his matches and vignettes to be very entertaining.

I thought more recently it was amazing after Survivor Series in particular to find out the he had continued much of the Elimination Chamber match with a partially crushed trachea as I had no idea until I read about it later. He did really well there to keep going, especially when he had a decent stint with Michaels at the end of the match which he was able to do without dropping below par.

Nowadays as he isn't quite as quick with his increased muscle mass, I tend to prefer him in more hardcore type matches. I enjoyed his spot on Jericho's Highlight Reel with Nash last week when they were slugging it out, so I think they should have that as a no disqualification match for Judgment Day. That said, I still do enjoy his in-ring performances in conventional matches, and mark out at his entrances even now!

Good thread Dra.

I have to admit to very much enjoying his work in 2000, especially at the Rumble, which was my pick for MOTY 2000.

Er, that's about it right now really.

I agree with Nicole. I think HHH's promo's are top class, and he always gets the desired reaction, whether as face or heel. He was good back then, and I still think he's good now.

And MLM, I'm the exact same mate. I always sit up when Hunter's music hits. :)

I think HHH in 2000 was positively awesome, his promos were good, his matches were excellent, he sold truck loads Flair style, put others over (Taka, Jericho, Foley, Rock, Benoit), and was generally immensley entertaining.

I think that's what makes the HHH of today so unbearable, we all know he can do those things, yet time and time again, enflates his own ego, over them.
