yeah i like grunge. im into Nirvana in a big way to - in Utero is my fave album. never really got into Pearl Jam - Jeremy was the only song that ive heard from them that ive liked.

i am glad grunge came about tho cos the hair metal of Bon Jovi et al was appalling.

I love Nirvana (not in such a way where I'd be prone to saying "They started rock music!" or anything like that though, I just really enjoy the music). I also like Pearl Jam a lot but don't really have too much of their stuff. Alice In Chains I haven't heard much of and I didn't enjoy it anyway, but I like Jerry Cantrell's stuff. Soundgarden I've only heard one song by (and you can probably guess it...) and I like that a lot too.

I like Pearl Jam, but i was never a "typical Grunger". i take an interest in a bit of the music but thats about it. Nirvana were ok, but i never heard anything by Alice in Chains.

Well Pearl Jam are my favourite band, Alice in Chains and Soundgarden aren't far behind either, and I loved Nirvana too. So I'd guess that I'm pretty into grunge.

Notable mentions to other bands too some of which may not be considered grunge but were all a part of the scene, Motherlovebone (Andy we miss you), Temple of the Dog, Sonic Youth, Screaming Trees, Smashing Pumpkins, Mudhoney, Blind Melon, Lemonheads.

I love, and miss, you all.

That said, I don't pretend that it revolutionised the industry. It just led us from where we were when it started to where we were when it ended. Nothing more nothing less.

To be fair, Grunge is more of a scene, as Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, don;t really sound that much like each other, but I do like them all, Nirvana the least though, just thought the others were better.

read my post again, it says that those band aren't all neccessarily grunge, but were all part of the scene. Blind Melon were certainly part of that.

I like music that was considered 'grunge' a lot more now than I did at the time, when I didn't really like it at all. I'm not mad keen on it now, but I certainly don't mind it at all. Back when that scene was becoming popular I thought it was just that, that it was more about the scene than the music of the actual bands involved (what jung said). I quite like Soundgarden and Nirvana aren't bad, Pearl Jam were decent as well but I'm not likely ever to get really psyched about those bands, although some of their stuff is quite good.

By the way Popsi like the name change, the 'winkle' bit on the end gave the wrong impression that you were a bloke. :D
