Extreme Warfare 4.0

This page is for the latest news on the next Extreme Warfare Revenge game, 4.0.

About The Game

At the moment, i cannot give full details on EWR 4.0 due to legal reasons. What i can say is that EWR 4.0 is currently scheduled to be released sometime in 2003, and is the biggest update to the EW series since the switch from Extreme Warfare Deluxe to Extreme Warfare Revenge. Although the game is based on the EWR 3.0 code (i.e. it has not been rewritten from scratch) there will be several new features that will change the game in radical ways. Below is just a small taster of the features that will be included. This list will be expanded on at a later date.

The entire contract system is being redone. Each worker will be able to work for up to three promotions at once. So, for example, AJ Styles will be able to work for Ring of Honor, NWA:TNA, and Combat Zone Wrestling. Also, workers will be able to work on a pay-per-appearance basis, rather than the monthly way that was used in previous games.

The event system is being redone from scratch. Not only will you be able to hold your large events whenever you want (not just on the last Sunday like previous EWR games) but there will also be the option to run a weekly PPV model, so NWA:TNA can be simulated correctly.

Every worker and staff member will be able to have a photo. This will be an optional feature, so if you do not want to download 3-4 meg of extra graphics, you don't have to. Using this feature will not slow the game down at all.

There will be several new matches and angles, including War Games.

At this stage, everything that will be in 4.0 has been planned out and scheduled. For that reason, please do not mail me with suggestions, as if they are not already in the plan, they will not be added now. Also, please do not mail me asking for (a) details on what the other features are (b) to ask to be a beta tester © to ask for further explanation of the features already described. Any mails like that will be deleted on sight, and not replied to. There are NO exceptions.

There you go.

We still know very little about it but if it even halfway comes through on its promise to be the biggest progression in the series since EWD went to EWR then I'm cumming already.

Should be class, the indy section will rule ass now cause wrestlers can go on 3 shows at a time. Man it will rule. Cant wait.

I think he cant be arsed to put them on himself so he comes up with that. There cant be any legal reasons. If so wouldnt TWO and other wrestling websites get done for using there pictures on there website? Its really stupied to me.

Still, legal reasons for using pictures? It's a free game. Surely if that was the problem that every wrestling web site would have to close?

Totally agree with you BUT.........

Championship Manager had the same problem - SIGames had legal action being taken against them for showing football pictures against their wishes.

Yeah it has to be said that there has been no acknowledgement that the pictures have anything to do with the legal reasons Ryland mentions. In fact, he's even said that that's not what they are. I guess we won't know until they are sorted out.

The shots of the game are looking pretty awesome now though, and as more features are announced I really can't wait for this to come out.
